Hows it goin guys? I need some advice here. This guy at school wants to race me, but theres alot of crap tied up behind this race... with my Ex gf, and just the people we hang out with... just problems basically. He also talks alot of crap about the car because its a V6. I reallly, really need to beat him. He has a 1993 Cadillac Seville STS... the one with the Northstar motor. I have a 2002 3.8, stick, Magnaflow Catback exhaust, CAI, Motoblue UDP and some Iridium spark plugs(Not that they really make a difference). His car is quick, i know ive been in it. Its at 87,000miles on its second motor though and mine is at 53,000miles. We will race from a 15mph roll. When we race, it will be for money and alot of other crap too, as i said before. Anything i can do to give me an edge or will his car just walk mine anyways?

 

75-100 shot of nitrous is a quick edge....remember he weighs like 750ish more pounds than you.

 

Yeah it weighs close to 4000lbs, its 9 years older and it has a 4 speed auto... but it has 295hp and 290lbs ft torque. I was looking into buying a nitrous Kit but i just got the magnaflow catback exhaust so i dunno if thats an optionn. Ill keep looking around for deals though.

 

O well you can get a kit for like $300 if you look around on ebay...just tell him his car is ugly

 

He might weigh more but that northstar is quick. If you have a drag stip close by you should race him there. Not only is it much safer but you also will have a handicap and you might beat him on the lights. You stand a much better chance of beating him that way, it evens things out. Why a rolling start? You might have a better chance from a dead stop. Another idea is race him 1/8 mile instead of a 1/4.

 

Okay, im gonna say your around 215-220 hp with your mods which might be a tad generous, but not really the point, anyway,

do you have open or closed diff? if open get a t-lok/detroit/auburn and gears (3.73 or 4.10) and that should help a ****load

also, hes got a 4.6L 295hp/290lbs ... damn.. lol, but its a 93... and is it stick?
so at the moment you have 700 lbs on him and hes got 75hp on you, but basically yeah, get a 75 shot of nitrous and you should have him, but to secure that win get a LSD + gears, although it'll be a bit of $ to get them installed.. dont get gears installed without the LSD bc its basically the same thing to do to get them installed

im gonna take a wild *** guess and say from the weight and HP differences, hes still got like 30hp on you and a bit of torque, so yeah, get you some nitrous !

Those Caddys are pretty quick. You shouldinsist on starting from a dig instead of a roll tomake the mostof your weight advantage. Also be sure not to spin the tires any. Nitrous would bethe bestquick power adder but don't forget you need supporting mods for it.

 

oh! you might try to lose any extra weight, take out the rear seats, anything in the trunk, the spare wheel, have a little less than 1/4 tank of gas, im sure theres something you can do with the tire pressure too but i dont really know that much about it to be giving info.. and his auto will give u the adv also, just run and gun it, i feel like you will have him.. maybe get one of your friends to put a couple bricks in his trunk, Lol

 

screw bricks use cinder blocks and fill the holes with bricks lol
