I have three suggestions:

1: Start from a dead stop. There's no benefit to you letting him get that behemoth of his get some momentum.

2: Practice makes perfect. You can smoke him but you had better get yourself in shape.

3: If all else fails: cheat.

 

if you're that worried don't race, i haven't raced anybody in my mustang yet, just say you don't need to get caught street racing.

 

Ha! I was thinking about that movie when I read the original post. I just saw the South Park parody of it the other night.

 

sounds to me like the kid talked alot of sh*t to the caddy driver. I cant think of any other reason there would be anything social tied up in a race. Hell, even if an ex is involved, tell her to go screw herself... Im just having trouble seeing how, win or lose, life will be any different after this race.... unless of course u talked smack and now ur expected to throw down

aside from that, Im a huge fan of nitrous, but even tho u can get a kit for 200 bucks, i would never run it without tuning, and thats around 500 if ur lucky. but some people do alright with the stock tune. just not worth the uncertainty IMO

 

Whoever said about the 3.8s being weak engines, they are actually fairly durable. No, they dont make the power of a V8 but, yes, they are durable. Even so, you will want a tune to not only make nitrous safe but, to get the full effect from it too. BTW, if you havent guessed my re-iteration; Nitrou ftw.
