two guys at work, both have been bragging they could beat the other. one has a2001 trans am ws6auto, stock. the other cat has a 2005 evo 6 speed, stock. i told them it would be too close to call, and they should just race. i think both are afraid to lose after all the **** talking they've done. if it ever does go down, who has the edge?

 

The trans am def. has the edge cause they're supposed to trap around 107-109 stock right (correct me if i'm wrong LSx owners)...the evo only traps 101-102 stock but runs a low time cause of the launch but i def. say the trans am is gonna win on this one...

 

a really well driven evo 9 has the ability to beat a stockls1 car, especially from a dig...

a really well driven one, mind you. however, the evo gains bunches of power with minor mods...mods that most people couldnt pick out from a stock car.

 

yeah i was wondering....when the evo guy first got his ride, he talked of all the mods he was going to do (cams, bigger turbo, header, etc). now, since the war of words with the t/a owner started, mr evo claims to be bone stock. fishy fishy!

 

ive seen a guy from the pittsburgh area (at least he races at PRP) with a black evo8...he was in the 11 teens, and it looked like nothing but an evo with a cage, DRs and no rear interior...pretty much everything under the hood looked stock...i saw him more recently, and it was no longer stock looking..and was running low 10s at nopi norwalk

ive seen a few guys running the 2.3L evo stroker, and it looked like a stock engine.

 

an 05 Evo is the 8 version...but still i wouldn't mind having one and doing a big turbo and some other things to it hehe...

 

the evo owner knows his cars, and he is very confident of a victory.....bet he is modded.

 

i mean, things as simple as a boost controller tucked away in the engine bay would make it a difficult race for the firebird.

 

from a roll LS1 will beat him EVERYTIME!!!! from a dig, i race it will be close but if they race long enough LS1 will still beat him!

 

well the trash talking between the two has died down the last couple of days. maybe i'll try to instigate something i'll keep you posted if they ever do run em.
