Default 65 vs. Si

So my friend is looking to get a 1994-1998 Prelude Si (manual) this summer and he came up to me and two of my other friends and was telling how easily he's going to beat me when he gets one. I have a 1965 Mustang GT with a 302 (headers, 4 barrel Holley carb, K&N filter, new cam and a Edelbrock Performer 289 intake manifold) matched with a 4-speed tranny. I'm sure I'll win from a dig, but what do you guys think?

IF he gets the car, you defintitly have the experience advantage. I say invest in a solid cam/head combo. Like GT40 heads and an E303. BUT, I'm not one of the after 5.0L experts, so ask in there what you should do next to insure a victory.

1994-98 Honda Prelude S
HP.........135

1994-98 Honda Prelude Si
HP.........160

1994-98 Honda Prelude VTEC
HP.........190-195
0-60.......6.9
1/4........15.1
Top Speed 140 Mph

Cant find any performance numbers for theS and Si versions.

Now, there are3 different versions of the Prelude for those years. One is the 190-195 HP VTEC, One is the 160 HP Si, and the other is the 135 HP S. The 190-195 HP version willhave a VTEC badge on the rear of the car. If you go up against the 160 HP version, Id say you have the win. If you go up against the VTEC youll have your work cut out for you, should be a good race.

Not too many guys with classics race them, and I just imagine them racing other muscle cars not a stock honda prelude

Well I'm only 17 so I guess I just don't see the use in having a V8 if I'm not going to use it, but you're right not too many people with classics do race them. I wish I could race other muscle cars but not too many kids around here (central Oregon) have muscle cars, most of them either have ricers, trucks or german cars.
