Just wondering, just say what you drive, how much you pay for insurance, how old you are, and whether you have tickets and/or special discounts effecting your price.

18- I drive a 00 gt vert...but im insured on the familys v6 vert as my main car, i have the 3.0 discount and the safe driving program discount...no tix i Pay 680 or so every 6 months.
again with this question

A lot also counts on the deductible you have, the amount of coverage 50,000/500,000 vs25,000/100,000 etc, what other riders you have etc. If none of that made sense then you just realized it's apples/oranges.

I'm 19 and have a clean driving record. I've had my license for 3 years. I pay $150 a month for my Cobra.
whaaaaaaaaaaaat? HOW?!? is that no tickets/no accidents/ and just liability?
Lol. Nope. Full Coverage. No tickets or accidents on my record.
I believe you, but it does seem like B.S. Cobras are one of the most expensive cars to insure, no matter how old you are. Granted I pay $172 per month for full coverage on my 01 GT and 05 GT with my Wife and I both on there, but I was quoted $250 per month for the Wife and I on just a Cobra. And we both have perfect driving records, no accidents, no tickets or anything, and she has been driving for9 years and I've been driving for about 4. Oh well, you get by paying $150 per month and you are lucky, nice ride by the way too.
No B.S. I wouldn't lie to you.

I have Mercury Insurance. A LOT of people in my area have been switching over to Mercury the past few years because It's so cheap. My deductibles are are set at $1,000 for both comprehensive and collision. It actually just went down to $150 at the beginning of March because I had my license for 3 years without any tickets or accidents. It was $180 something a month before that. And I also told them I would be driving less than 5K miles a year. My job is about a mile away, and school is 3 miles tops.

And you're right, Cobra's ARE EXPENSIVE to insure. When I had to go in to sign the new policy, I spoke with the manager of my Insurance Agent company. She told me Insurance companies price thier insurance for a car on a scale from 4-28. A 4 would be an old school car, and a 28 would be a new Ferrari. Guess where the Cobra was ranked at? ... 26 [&:]

Oh, I also forgot to mention that I do have a multicar discount. MY BAD! Lol

I believe It saves about $150-$200 every 6 months, so It saves me about $20-30 a month. It's not too big of a discount, but It helps.

I am on my Moms policy, and that gives us a multicar discount through Mercury. But It's NOT under my moms name. I don't want anyone to get confused and think that's why it's so cheap. My car is 100% insuredunder my name, and her car is insured %100under her name. I am just on her policy. They gave us a multicar discount because of that. Having no tickets, accidents, and driving low miles annually is what really cut the cost. But the good thing about me being on her policy is that we both are insured to drive each other's car. So I can drive her Camry whenever I want.

... But I won't let her drive my Cobra! LMAO!... She's been asking too. I won't do it... Sorry Mom. Haha.

Trust me, that's the biggest reason why your rates are so low. Your car may be listed with you as the primary driver, but being under a family policy gives you a huge payment break. My insurance basically tripled when I started my own policy. Mileage honestly doesn't matter either. I've told my insurance company that I drive my STi less than 100 miles a month and it doesn't make one bit of difference in how much I pay on it.

No, I thought the same thing. But the discount really only saves me $20-30 a month. And the name of the discount is "Multicar discount". When I first added my Cobra to the policy, they gave me the disounted price, and the price If I wanted tobe on a seperate policy by myself with them.I can't remember exactly how much it was, but It was no more than a $200 difference every six months. But trust me, I'm NOT complaining. I still think Insurance it too damn expensive.

Also, I was about to switch over to a policy with Progressive that would've been only me on the policy. My quote for them was $169 a month. That's only $19 more a month for than what I'm paying now. So again, the multicar discount doesn't save me that much, but I'm happy I have it. Insurance companies charge waaaay too much.

Being on your Moms insurance, rather your the only one listed to drive the Cobra, your still saving money. I was on my parents insurance with the multicar discount and no tickets or accidents, and I paid like $60 per month for full coverage on an 03 Oldsmobile Alero, 4 cylinder and 4 door. Then when I got off theirs it went up to $240 per month, but then I got on my Wifes, who was my g/f at the time, I got on her insurance and we were paying $150 per month for full coverage on an 01 Cavalier and my 03 Alero. Your deductible and stuff is $1000, while mine is $500, so that might be saving you alittle bit of money. And there is an insurance company, probably just like this Mercury, where I was quoted $120 per month on an 03 Cobra and 01 GT, but their deductibles are high and they dont cover alot of stuff, so I definately wouldnt go with them.
