24 psi is alot different that 16. But yes, you are right, they are fast. Last week, the guy didnt even know where the car made boost, hence why I waxed him so bad the first time. He probably isnt the greatest driver, for that specific car. He's only had it a couple months. He will learn.

But my car made 470/550. His is 400/low 300's??????

It takes ALOT of work to get a car like that to hook good enough to go 10 or 9's.

P.S. A nitrous car from a roll is ALOT different that a boost car, especially Turbo. It is instant, even faster than a KB or Whipple. The initial "hit" of the spray, while he is building boost, is what gave me that jump.

he doesnt hit boost til 5500rpm. lol Its a 60mm turbo on a built B16.
And he redlines at what? 8k rpm tops? so you get power through a quarter of the rpm range -impressive

There'sa guy around here that has a fully built b18c1 that spins and makes power to 10k. 8.2k is a b18c1 stock redline. I'm not sure about a b16, but I'm sure it's around there. He hits boost at most 4k, (probably sooner with the setup he has, I would assume 3-3.5k) That would give him a pretty nice powerband.

This gay 50+ crap does not count as a race. There was no "win" or "loss" here. Punching it at 50 mph is what people do when merging on their way to work, not racing.

There's no way a 1.6 or 1.8L engine, especially one designed to make power up to 10krpms, will spool a turbo that's big enough to make 400+whp to full boost in 3krpms. I have a very very hard time believing that, unless you have some dyno sheets to prove me wrong

With a smaller turbo it's definitely easy to hit full boost at 3krpms, but you're not going to see that kind of top end and it's going to be set up more for like autocrossing.

This is of course assuming that you're not using nitrous to help spool it... then that's a whole different game!
