Lancer Question
A friend of mine recently purchased a new lancer... the 9 I think. He said that he wished to run me at the track and we... I am not big on racing since my pocket really doesn't work for broken parts right now.
IF I were to run him at the track what would my chances be... the most he might have within the week of owning the car would be larger front mount... if that...
Thanks..
The car I own now is no longer a 2004... it is a 2006 gt 5 spd... all stock.

If this is an EVO, which I assume is, just hope he is an avg driver. And if he just got it last week, he probably cant launch that thing to save his life. I raced an EVO a few months ago in my automatic 01 GT with mods in sig, and he only beat me by about 2-2 1/2 cars from 0 to about 80mph. So I think if your one of those good drivers who can run a 13.3-13.5 stock, I think you'll get him. Good luck and let us know what happens.
13.3?, a little bit of a stretch if this guy referred to an evo as a plain jane lancer, but anyways do the best you can and if you lose o well, the base price of his car is so farabove yours to the point that you could run forced induction on your car for the same money he paid for his stock gayvo, blow his doors off, and still have a couple dollars in your pocket

I understand that, but there are guys who can get a 3v to run 13.3 stock. And from what I've heard, the avg EVO driver runs theirs to 13.5 or so, so with great driving, the GT might take the EVO.

Whats a few and far between, a 3v running 13.3 or an EVO running 13.5? I'm guessing the 3v running 13.3, which is a few and far between, but you never know and I dont think this is gonna be at the track, but I'm not sure.
Sorry guys.I forgot to post the EVO part. I thought with adding the number "9" in there it would help. Besides, I don't race much, and spending time on a regular "lancer" is not something I am looking to do.
To the person who said this might not be on the track.. it is. Gainesville Raceway to be exact. I wanted to see if I had a chance or not, or if I was just wasting time. I do know his driving characteristics since I have seen him race. He used to own a Type S RSX...
Thanks for all the input.. and maybe between now and then something could be added the beast to improve over stock...
