for those of you who don't want to read a long stock I raced a lightning from 0-75mph and won by a half a car.


I had a little run in with a pullied lightning the other day. I was driving down the street when up ahead I saw a blue Lightning. I thought to myself hey I really haven't been in a race with the new stang lets see if this guy wants to play. I'm not one to provoke a race so I usually just wait till we get a light. Well my wish came thru and me and the lightning were next to each other at a red light. I didn't rev or look over at him I just wanted to see if he would hit from the light. When the light turned green I launched harder then normal and I looked and he wasn't really going anywhere, so I let off the gas a little and then I heard his SC scream so I punched it in 1st(the gear I was in). But, since I was already going 15mph or so I spun a little bit and he got a car length on me till about 65mph. On the way to the next light I made him roll down his window to see what he had done because by the sound of that eaton is was not stock. Sure enough he had a 6lbs lower pulley and a 2.76 upper I believe. He said he upgraded the Heat Exchanger, TB, and CAI. I didn't get time to ask him what he put down on the dyno because I look up and all of a sudden we got another light. So this time I KNOW he is going to race so I get ready. I launch him off the light about a car and a half and kept that until about 65mph. But, at around 70 he had taken my car and a half lead down to about a half a car. I accually was kinda disappointed because I was told that my car has 412rwhp per the guy I bought it from before. I just thought I would've done a little better then I did you know? So let me know what you guys think.

I mean that sounds like a pretty good run. He was modded up pretty good and was probably putting down way more torque than you. Good job! You've got a strong running Cobra =)

 

the only thing that I'm disappointed about it that if we would've went from a roll I probably would've lost. And in my mind I thought my car should be faster then that, I don't know I could just be wanting more then I have because i'm a HP junkie.

 

I checked another website and I found out what his HP and TQ numbers should be. Probably about upper 400 to 500 HP and upper 500 to 600 TQ.

 

if he had THAT much torque which i blieve he must have been over 500rwtq, then he must have spun like a **** off the line.

dont feel bad, if the race when to 100+ im sure u wouldve walked, all the lightnings ive seen pull hard until about 95-110 and then they are like a brick wall, torque cant help em then[8D]
