So I was coming off the NYS thruway onto a two lane, fairly wide street following some kind of Jaguar. I naturally assumed that I'd be able to blow by him and get into the lane that would take me in the right direction. I didn't bother downshifting, I was in third doing about 2k rpms. I pulled off to the side of this guy and step on it, and realized that I wasn't really going anywhere in relation to the other car. [:'(]He stepped on it too, we pretty much matched each other up to about 100 mph, him about half a car length ahead of me the entire time, even as I was shifting into 4th.


Methinks not bad for my first race, considering I didn't downshift at the beginning or take it to the top of third before I shifted to fourth.

Btw, I was driving my all stock 5 speed 01 GT. Vert too, not that it makes a ton of difference.

 

Next time... DO IT, FOO! haha it makes a world of a difference. I'm not COMPLETEY sure I'd call this your first race though?I mean the conditions were horrible, you know? You didnt even know you were racing atfirst! So yea I wouldn't call this your first race...plus I think high speed rolls are dumb[:'(]unless, of course, you have a TT Terminatorhaha. My first race:a 40 roll againsta ghetto new edge turbo'd civic and beat him by half a car.

Eh, it wasn't really high speed, we probably started at about 40 mph. I am retarded for not taking it past 4800 rpm though.

Wellllllllll... Raced a 5.0 today, smoked him. We were at a light and started from a dig, then I quit when I got up to about 80 and he was about two car lengths behind. I slowed down to let him catch up, and he got level, paused for a second, and then hammered it again. Caught me offguard, but I downshifted and caught up before I had to hit the brakes because a car was making a left from opposing traffic.

That was fun.

 

Alright well I'd consider the 5.0 race your first race. Actually sound like a race haha. Thats an interesting first though, against another Mustang. Good you beat him too
