What does it take.....
to beat a Impala SS?
raced one tonight, he caught me off guard at the light, put around 1 car length between us, shifted at 4500 rpms, caught up to him, reached 5000 rpms then we had to brake since the next light turned red, stopped at the light, I rev it to 2500rpms, light turns green, no competition, by the time I shifted into 2nd, there was around 2 cars between us, at this point I let off and he merges behind me, at the next light I stop to make a left turn he passes by and waves.
true?

What year? The older ones on the Caprice chassis had LT1's but were heavier than a fat girl at Golden Corral.
<--has a 93 Caprice for his beater
The newer ones aren't light, but not as heavy. They're front wheel drive and either had a blown V6 (same as Pontiac Grand Prix GTP) or a 300 hp 5.3L V8 (as of 05, IIRC).
Either way you should beat them. The LT1 might give you more of a run for your money, but you should still get him.
