I know these questions are asked quite a bit, but I haven't been here in a while and just wondering really quick: Would I be able to beat a new WRX, not sti. I raced one a few days ago but I had 3 other people in my car and a full tank of gas, it was only himself. And he didn't really make it clear that he wanted to race so I didn't really punch it, but in a fair race where I really know whats going on, how would it go down?

 

if you go from a dig, the WRX will kill you on the launch. I can outrun an older WRX non-sti (03 or so), but I WILL NOT mess with an STI. It should be close if you can launch without spinning too much.

 

yeas you can beat a WRX and STIs are overrated. i beat my friends STI all the time and give em **** on how a 15k car is faster than the all mighty awd 30 grand STI LOL. i only beat him by about 1/2 a car but winning is winning!!

Why is Everyone SOOOO Scarred of AWD.. Yes they can Launch HARD (most dont cause you will break the Gears) and a 14 second car is STILL a 14 second Car.... There is a Kid around here with a 340whp Cobra that wont race my friends STock WRX cause "its AWD he will kill me" SOo, moral of the story, you will beat one from a DIG or Roll...(Roll ALOT Worse) .... YOU run a 13.2 in the 1/4 and your Scarred of an STI?? From a Dig you should take one witha 13.2 and from a Roll you can Destroy an STI/Evo stk.....

 

not to say my bullitt is amazing or anything....BUT... my Bullitt > STi .... even though the dig in an STi was nice ( i drove his car also ) b/c of the DCCD Torque Distribution option...I likey. But you can beat that WRX! And who on earth wouldn't race an STi if they have a Cobra???

 

I will run an STI on the track, but they kill me on the street, because my car has serious traction issues due to stiff springs. If I had drag springs, I would be more comfortable racing one on the street. Most of the Evo's/STI's around here are far from stock, that is why i am cautious (not "scared") about racing one. If you see an evo out here, it is most likely running a different turbo, exhaust, tune, and more, so a "bolt-on"gt has a little trouble hangin with them.

yeah i dunno where you guys are from, but i live in CT and i dont think I've ever seen an STI or EVO that wasnt obviously modded.... The only WRX's ive seen are drivenby middle aged women lol so nobody ever wanted to race haha


The place where I go once in a while for work on my stang does about half american muscle (stangs, vettes, maros) and about half imports (STI, EVOs, Supras)....and in their showroom i've seen 3 badass stangs...including a gt pushing the high 400's, an 04 cobra in themid 600s....which is all in good,

but the imports there are pushing seriously sick numbers......760hp supras, almost none of the STIs ive seen are below 400 to the wheels.....hell...I even see them pushing out Legacy GT's with well over 300 horses


long story short, in CT anyway, I havent run into an evo or sti i felt comfortable racing haha
