ok 2003 v6 mustang (auto) vs 1996 BMW 323is (manual)

BMW is stock 5 speed

Mustang has - 4.10 - I don't think it helps much
- Exhaust Flowmaster 40's
- BBK throttle body + BBK cold air
- Diablosport tune (this helpes most)

 

Why don't you just look up the BMW stats and compare them to the Mustang stats? That's what most of us here are gonna do for you.

I'm not bothering looking up the BMW, but if I'm thinking of the right model, it should be a drivers race stock, but with the 4.10's (which do help a lot) and tuner you should be a bit faster.

 

i know it has 168 hp and 18* tq but i also know it has less drivetrain loss and alot less weight like 2800 lbs compaired to the 3066 lb mustang. I am not sure how its geared

 

I bet that would be a pretty close race. If you had a stick, it would be a drivers race, but since you have an auto, hope he has crap shifting skills.

 

Why don't you just race it? What's the worst that can happen? You lose. Oh no!

 

That's a good point, I don't know why i came here first insted of just running him? I guess its just an instinct or something.

 

You're not betting any money on it and the cars are pretty similar. Bench racing is kind of a waste of time with cars this similar cause there's too many variables. Might as well just race him, you don't have anything to leave.

shoot ive beaten onein the 96' before the engine swap.
Once they start going downhill they lose power quick and require a complete tune up.
A high school friend of mine (We are 25yrs now) was into beemers heavy a couple years ago and thats how he would pick them up. Get them running ****ty and give them a tune up and enjoy

Just race and have fun, you guys will really know where you stand if you do it at the track.
