i can't ever get the LS1 guys around here to play no matter how much i taunt them they always make a turn, all i have is a 5.0 notch with full exhaust... i don't get it.

nice kill by the way... doesn't really come as a surprise though ( 449 rwhp 466 rwtq)
Not to hi-jack, but are you ever gonna mod that damn 5.0 or what?

baby steps ...i wanna see what it can do with bolt-ons and a little suspension work before touching the engine. She'll be ready in a couple weeks and i'll be heading to the track ASAP.

So far you have what, headers, midpipe and a catback? What other bolt ons and suspension work do you plan on doing?

best run so far was 14.17 @ 101.2mph.
mods were:
-MAC headers
-MAC o/r H-pipe
-Magnaflow catback
-MAC CAI
- B&M shifter
-Apex lowering spings
i had major traction issues with the crappy all season 205 series tires and worn out suspension.

since then:
-Tokico illumina struts and shocks
-Deleted the A/C and smog equipment with March brackets
-BIG tune up (way overdue) plugs, wires, cap&rotor, changed all the fluids and filters, seafoam, cleaned the MAF, bumped the timing to 14*...i'm sure i'm forgetting something.
-relocated battery to the trunk
....i have some BFG DRs 275/40/17, 3.55 gears, a t-loc rebuild kit and everything to swap over to 5 lug... this is what's left to do this week. then i have to wait for the lower control arms and subframe connectors to get here, and i'm all set!

Damn man, have you been on the downlow with these mods or have I been hiding out somewhere and didnt hear about this? Either way man that would be tight if you hit a 13.5. What are you hoping for in the 1/4 mile?

03 Cobra modded with 449 rwhp is OBVIOUSLY > LS1, C5 Z06, C6 and >= C6 Z06.
What's the big surprise?

I'm noy buying an LS1 with Ported Heads would be that slow and thinking the LS1 driver was full of BS.

Another jealous chevy owner.....I cant wait til the new camaro comes out so the new mustangs can give it and old fashoned *** kicking!
Mmmmm not gonna happen. The 2007 Mustang GT still has not caught up to the 1998 Camaro Z28. The new Camaros are going to be quite a bit faster still (400ish hp).

A heavy-*** Cobra will need more power than that to hang with a lightweight 505 hp Z06.

i didn't post much about the mods, mostly just mentionned them when trying to help others out in 5.0 tech but that's about it. mid 13s is exactly what i'm hoping for, i'm sure it could go as far as low 13s but i don't wanna get my hopes up, plus i don't think i have enough experience to get that perfect run out of it.

tru dat tommyboy, there's about a 700lbs difference i think... the cobra would have to put down to the wheels what the Z06 puts out as bhp to stand a chance.

the next generation is stang rumored to get a 50hp bump... if this is true, considering that the new camaro is said to weight close to 4000lbs, it might be a closer race than we think.... only time will tell.

Have you any idea what will be in the new camaro's? I don't think they will be an easy push-over.
