Well, the fans keep chanting "LS7!...LS7!....LS7!" for the high end model Camaro, but it's anyone's guess as to whether that will happen or not. My guess is the only reason GM would NOT do an LS7 Camaro is if they couldn't get the thing to sticker anywhere close to the GT500. Not that that matters really.......since the GT500 stickers for 42K, but you can't get your hands on one for less than 55K most of the time.[:'(]

I guess when we see what the Z28 is packing (I have been under the imrpession that it would get the 400hp LS2 as well), I guess we'll be able to take an educated guess at what the SS model will get. Unless GM does like it did with the last gen Camaros, and makes the SS just a slightly upgraded Z28 with the same motor. THAT will **** alot of ppl off tho, I believe.

I'm not sure how reliable edmunds is but here's a article on the 08 vette and the LS3. http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=120575

I guess GM could still put the LS2 in the new maro...I just don't think it'll make a lot of sense unless they put the LS2 in the Z28 and the LS3 in the SS. Who knows...

The vast majority of consumers believed that the LS1 Camaro SS was faster because of its higher hp rating and sticker price (fools!). I don't see why GM wouldn't just do the same thing, a lot cheaper and easier than using a different motor.

I agree completely. They just better be prepared for the wrath of those gearheads who will find out in short order what that SS really has.

Honestly, I'll be surprised if GM lets the Camaro roll out without a 500hp variant. I guess it'll depend on how much pull the beancounters end up with on this model's production.

hahahah! i never noticed Tommy's quote in your sig there before, good stuff[sm=smiley36.gif].

i think it's obvious you'd leave him in the dust from a roll with that trap speed, would be nice to see a showdown on the track though *cue wild west music and ball of tweed*

It doesnt matter if GM puts a jet engine in the new Camaro, it will still never be as popular as the Mustang.......

With the new 'maro weighing 3800+lbs curb weight, I HOPE they have a 500hp version!
