Default raced srt-4

as i was approaching the highway on ramp an srt4 neon came flying up on me, we turned on to the on ramp and i jumped on it in second when i heard him get on it.. definately had exhaust intake and a blow off. he got the jump because i wasn't expecting it but i caught him by the top of third. About a half mile up the highway he had slowed down to about 40-45 and i came up next to him and he rolled down the window with a smirk and said " i walked away from you huh?" and i was like " actually no, but lets go again" he said ok down shifted and jumped on it. I jumped on it next to him and slowly walked away. As we got off the highway he pulled up next to me at a light and started revving his engine. obviously didnt learn the last time. So i waited for green and went.. no traction i eased though first and hammered second.. spun for about fifty feet and he had maybe half a car on me.. but as soon as i hooked up i caught him in second and walked past him in third. He came up next to me as i was turning and i just smirked. he looked pissed. obviously hought i was just some stock 5.0.

Nice kill man. That's why I love 5.0's, they can be fast as hell or a worn out dog, you never know.

well this past winter i went through almost the whole thing. gears motor (302 gt40 heads) b303 cam trickflow upper and lower intake ford racing headers no cats flowmasters, about 300 to the wheels. gonna put boost to it soon too. but i agree with what you said with some being dogs but even with a nice exhaust it could sound mean. i think thats why so many people mess with me. probably thik im a 14 second stocker.

Do you know what you run at the track? I'm planning a similar combo.

Man seeing all these 5.0 stories has got me wanting to get another one. I had a 89 notch back in high school and loved it. The car was squirrely and a handful to drive but man what a ride. It was quick back in the day but nothing like whats on the street now. I know I am no longer intimidated by 5.0's but every once in a while you catch that one and he makes you rethink things.
Nice kill of the SRT. I cant' stand those little cars. The car is a great performer, but most of the owners are morons. The few I've taken out all act like some act of god just took place for them to have lost.

I wanna see your dyno sheet. With the stock ports and valves on those GT40 heads, I highly doubt you are putting down 295 horsepower on the rollers. I could see it if they had big valves and a hell of a port job, but I still really doubt it.

Thanks for keeping things real 92hatch!!! Seems a lot of Foxbody guys toss out rwhp numbers without truly thinking about what their combo should yeild. I had a friend who was always at 300rwhp no matter what combo he had... most of the time it was with an E-cam and GT40 irons... no idea why he always thought every combo automatically made 300rwhp but it helps to have you guys with experience out there raising the flag when it calls for it.

Thanks S8ER01Z. I'm not even going to guess what hisRWHP is because there are too many variables.ButI wouldbet money that he is definentally falling short of anywhere near 295.
