Camaros didn't come with 310 hp until 2000 or 2001, so 4-5 years ago.

you could buy a mustang, or camaro 35 years ago with at least 300 horsepower for lest than a fourth of that amount, so comparing 26K dollars, and 300 horsepower now is completely different, am i not correct somebody?

 

maybe if you don't factor in the cost of inflation over 35 years to the equation.

 

All things being equal (two competely stock cars with equal drivers) the 05 is going to win hands down every time.

It is not that much heavyer and comes with 40 more horsepower. I have seen several dynos of them putting down better numbers than mach 1s.

BTW, I wouldn't really consider a computer retune a "mod". I have heard from several people that there is 20-30 HP tied up in the laid back tune ford sends em out with. Read last months issue of Hot Rod, a non ford mag, they got her into the 12s pretty easy.
