you have a check engine light on in your car right now? I can't understand what you're saying. But if you do there is alot of your problem right there. Quit performing mods and not letting the cars ECM know about it. If you do you're only hurting your performance. All the mods in the world don't me dick unless the car is tuned for them. But I'm gonna say you were just out driven on this race. Go get yourself a tuner and fix your CEL. After that then see what happens with the car. I bet you'll be pleasenty surprised at the result.

If you have a CEL on your car may be in safe mode or "limp" mode and you may not even realize it.

I hate to break it to you dude, but the only couple basic bolt on's where you will see any significant gain on a 4.6L 2V are LT headers, gears, and a dyno tune
before my tune and gears I had a full exhaust with shorty headers, a CAI, and DR's and my best run was 14.0... my average was about 14.2-14.3

LT's and a catback on a G35... all that is needed after thatis a good driver and you will lose by more than one car length... I don't see how it is so hard to understand

 

first of all in the first time i beat hem by 2 cars, and now he only has SHORTY headers with x pipe not LT with catback,and he beats my two cars! thats what make me wonder

 

I believe Stanggang had the same mods as this guy, except I think he had gears, and he was running 13.6's in the 1/4 mile. A dyno tune helps, but is not needed with the mods he has, his problem is that he doesnt have even a basic handheld tune, that is whats holding him and his car back. And G35's, just like 350Z's, are basically maxed out from the factory, its only gonna be nitrous or F/I to make them go fast.

And you guys keep talking about shorties, longtubes, x-pipe, does the G35 have the same type exhaust as the Mustang, or are you guys just saying things?

 

partially right... stanggang had the same mods as me when I got my gears... we both had 4.10's... he just had street tires and ran 13.6's I was new to the 4.10's and bogged my launch bad and ran 13.9's

without gears I ran anywhere from 14.0-14.3... so I could MAYBE see the OP's car running 13.9's

but again.... a unmodded G35 with a good driver can cut high 13's all day... a bogged G35 will turn low-mid 14's... he just learned his driver mod and outran the automatic with a CEL light deficiencyis all

 

I thought G35's ran alittle slower than the 350Z's? I thought on avg a G35 ran 14.4-14.5 and a good driver could cut a 14.1 or so.
