87 5.0 vs 2005 ram hemi

RE: 87 5.0 vs 2005 ram hemi
Depending on how you drive and launch, it could be a win for you or it could be a loss for you. The Hemi powered Rams can run low 15's stock, which is about what your 5.0 can run, but if you can run through those gears and launch good, you can hit 14's. Good luck and let us know.
P.S. Just race him for fun and see what happens.

Isthe Hemi driver cocky because he's just a clown or has he made a few mods to the truck? I see more and more low 14 second Hemi pick-ups at the track. But from one old 5.0 guy to another I hope you stomp him

I had an 87 and loved it.....posted 0-60 was 6.3, I have an 04 Ram Hemi now and if seat of the pants memory doesn't betray me.....you should smoke him. I've got cold air and exhaust on my Hemi and I surely wouldn't want to race an 87GT....no way, now how [8D]

its ok...im here.
the "quick" hemi rams are almost ALL regular cab, short bed, 2 wheel drive, without the 20" wheels. in stock form, guys are getting high 14s out of them. ive never seen a stock hemi quad cab get anywhere near 14s, and with the added weight of 4WD (which most of the QCs are) youre looking at what is probably a mid tohigh 15 second truck.
ive seen a 2wd hemi rcsb ram without the 20srun in the 14.70s range, damn near stock...but last year at norwalk, we were pitted next to a very nice looking RCSB hemi ram, 2wd, with 22s, and he couldnt get out of the 15s. he seemed pretty annoyed to see that amandas truck "without a hemi" was running in the 14.80s...
in short, if you can drive your car, you should beat this guy...unless he is more modded than he lets on.
