i have a 89 5.0 gt 5 speed. it has header, h pipe, flowmasters, cold air intake. what should i expect to run at the track in the 1/4 mile? also what hp do these cars put down factory?

 

Lebo. Stock, 89's put down about 225 @4000RPM. 300 ft/lb TQ. Now, a 1.4 mile, you are probably looking around mid 14's @ about 90 MPH or so. Not bad at all. Depending on weather conditions, such as heavy wind, etc, take off, that time and trap speed will change.

 

Your saying a stock 89 made 260bhp??? Doubt it... I would expect to see more like 190s rwhpfrom a stock 5.0 at the wheels on a dynojet. Maybe 200ish.. i know there 205hp rating was crap but I dont think they made much more than 235~240hp at the crank.
