No seriously...you don't know e what your talking about. That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard. GTOs are hard to launch because of those skinny *** tires in the rear trying to translate 400hp.However when guys do launch them well, they average low 13s-high 12sbut the trap speed shows you what the car is trying to do. The GTO does not need 500rwhp to hit 12s or 13s moron. No one else caught this garbage?

 

I caught that he wasn't being serious, but I guess i'm the only one. They are hard to launch because of that IRS, it's easy to change tires.

 

Those guys are retarded...that's all... Everyone knows GTOs are slow and the V6 Mustang is a dead heat for them....

 

Ding Ding Ding... unlike some of the people on here Ive actually driven both LS1 and LS2 GTOs and know perfectly well what they are capable of as well as their weak/strong points.

I have similar Mods with the eddition of a pulley and I'm only putting down 290 rwhp.Where in the word did you find 310?

 

FWIW a GTO is only trying to plant 330~345rwhp (LS2) and 290~305rwhp (LS1)on the ground on those tires.. (I think I get what you meant but if you read it it sounds a little confused).... I never whined and moanedabout having to plant my 300+rwhp down on 245/50R16s so why should the GTO guys??The IRS is tricky to launch with but much like the F-Body it just takes a bit more finesse/skill to get it moving than a mustang (for example)... The problem Ive seen with the bad GTO times is a lot of the owners a not race veterens and lack experience launching them. My friend owns an 06 A4and went from his first pass of 16.1 @ 95mph to 14.3 @ 101mph with 2.7 60ft on the first and a 2.4 60ft on the second (HORRIBLE times and launches) but he did drop in time quickly after just a couple passes. With some more practice it's easy to see he has a ton of room to improve. He previously drove an 03 Mustang GT Auto before and had no issues getting it off the line without wheelspin...
