C5 Z06?
What sort of times does a stock C5 Z06 run? I managed to loose a street race to one today (by a car at the top of my 3rd, that is to say his bumper at my bumper or so) and I stopped to talk to the guy... he said it was bone stock?
He did still have the goodyears on there, but the exhaust was loud enough that I could hear his over mine (and mines pretty loud dumped). I really expected to at least put a car or 2 on a stock C5 with 420 WHP...

I think he was lying about being stock. Those cars are noisy stock, but not THAT noisy. I'd guess he probably had full exhaust, maybe an intake / tune and mild cam if you couldn't hear it. I could see that being a pretty close race with you
I dunno about a cam, but I just cannot see that car doing what it did to me. I didn't bother to shift into 4th, as it was getting dangerous at the speeds we were at (for that location) but he was starting to pull more on me.
For reference, I ran 12.40@114 on spinning nittos (what I had today).
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure a C5 Z06 won't run a high 11 or anything close to it bone stock... its only 400 flywheel horsepower.
You sure your not thinking of a C6?

low 12's high 11's

The Z06 C5 runs a low 12 stock... I believe 12.3-12.5... im sure the LS boys will chime in when they see this... but they're only a hair faster then the new LS2 Vettes which run 12.4-12.6ish (from what they've said in here before)... The only time I saw a Z06 C5 run @ the track was this chick for her first time and wasn't able to break a 13.5 in it...
Must be underrated then or what? I know its only what, 3200 ish pounds, but still..
At 400 flywheel horsepower I have at least what, 65/75 flywheel horsepower on em. I just expected to be at least door to door.
I put up a post on the local forum to see if anyone has acutally seen under the hood. One things for sure, next time I meet him I hope I'm on the mickey thompsons, story will be different
Put it this way, exactly how much different is this car from a stock C5? I know what happens to them... they get put away in the rearview pretty fast

Yea they run in the mid to high 12s and weigh 31xx pounds and around the 345-355rwhp give or take a little

Guy has to be bull****ing about being stock. I know that a set of LTs/midpipe/catback can do wonders for the car.
It sounded louder than stock, but it was hard to tell if it had a stock catback, just had the 4 tips (round) but I didn't get to look over the car or anything.
I ended up talking to him at a line at a bank teller window, I shoulda got out and looked under the car lol.
yea with just some bolt ons with headers they can be around 12 flat easy.U could of just had a off day on your shifting and those thing dont spin much at all.Yea just say there a 300 pound weight diff. That still puts your car around the 390 mark to his 350 360ish and that still should give u a 30 or 40 hp diff. and i bet u have lower gears then he does to
