.......dollar for dollar, the mustang will ALWAYS be a BETTER,FASTER car......................no matter the year.
That's so wrong that I'm laughing my but off. Mustangs cost more than f-bodies and they're a heck of a lot slower. You can get an LT1 F-body for about 1 or 2 grand less than a 94-98 GT and they're a whole second faster in the 1/4 almost. And an LS1 F-body is a heck of a lot cheaper than a New Edge and once again .5 to a second faster in the quarter. I haven't seen a New Edge that doesn't need work for under $9000 and you can get an LS1 for around $8000 in perfect condition.
I bought mine for 4 grand and mod for mod it is more responsive to mods then the lt1 and mods are dirt cheap for me.

Are you honestly serious? You don't make what a stock LT1 car makes after you swapped the heads/intake...yet you think it responds better to mods? A headed LT1 car basically throws it at the LS1 capability with an iron block...the only thing a stock LT1 lacks is a good set of heads. And by good, I'm comparing them to the LSx series.

Not a fair comparison. He does not have the supporting mods for those heads and a stock cam. I do and racing anything with a stock LT1 isn't worth the gas.

Father has the one in his 94 vette andhe isn't happy. Whats the basics to getting something outta them? Just heads?

just so i dont get flamed in this forum, i will clarify myself. buy a fox body stang and an f body. dollar for dollar, you will be better off in the mustang. this is not said because i am a blue blooded die hard ford guy, i loved my bb monte ss and miss it dearly. it cost me less than 7k to put my last dd mustang in the 9's (high) with a 460 c/6 combo. that would be a pretty monumental task in an f-body. i may be wrong, and if i am, then ok.I did not have to change out the rear end to handle the horsepower either. I am a mustang fan, but only hate on the ls? cars because i drive a Ford now again. they are fast, they do look cool, it is just not my prefrence for a hot rod.

Headers/intake/cam/decent heads and you're at 400'ish rwhp. Basically the same as a cam only LS1 car.

I would love to see this car. Not everday you see a daily driven 460 with a C6 tranny, much less one that is daily driven for under $7k.

I have a lot of buddies with foxbodies and a few are really quick and super nice. None are daily drivers. None cost under $7k to get in the 10's, let along the single digits. The fastest one has ran high 10's on motor. A high compression 331. He also has no interior in the car at all, no bumper supports, sway bar, etc....he is a 5 speed car though.

Supporting mods like larger injectors, throttle body, exhaust, fuel pump, etc. are not required to hit 400 whp?

Headers/intake/cam...and probably a tune.

My car made over 500rwhp with the stock injectors/pump.
