wasn't a type r, we dont have um here in america, as far as it having a turbo it probably didnt or it would have at least been able to keep up with you. my friends crx walks all over any stang it runs into and its all motor
i know for a fact that a type r motor can be had for the right price, i know some jackasses around here that have 12k into the motor of their civic and make 400 hp apparently but somehow never have the dyno sheet to back it.......probably just a badge, which is par for your average ricer...and it was turbo, i know what a turbo sounds like.....and were talking about an LS1 here not a stang
A "REAL" Civic Type R cannont be had in the U.S and if so they are 1 in a 1,000,000 to find. Yes you can order the same motor and drop it into almost any Honda/Acura. A stock Type R runs mid to low 14's and with a turbo with any decent amount of boost would be able to hang with if not beat an LS1. An LS1 beating a turbo'd Type R by 5 cars indicates it wasnt a real Type R nor was there a Type R motor in there.

well 12k into the motor of civic is foolish, hell 12k in any motor is foolish unless your made of money

and you "blownsvt" maybe his crx wont walk all over you with your supercharged svt, but his car cost 3k to build (includingbuying the car) and beats down most cars he runs into, with full interior no doubt...

like the little momas boy with the bleached spiked hair and big silver hoop earings who thought his 06 stang gt was sweet

I ran a turbocharged Civic a while back, looked very clean and close to stock, not ricey at all. He ran 13.9 @ 98.
Then last night I ran an angry bumblebee CRX that ran 16.54 @ 81.

I beat a bolt on CRX in my god damn lincoln LS by about 4-5 cars from a dead stop to 100... don't even hand me an all motor CRX is fast without some serious headwork and some nasty custom ground cams... even then your looking at bone stock S197 times... whoopdee freakin doo!

like tommy stated the older honda motorswith an aftermarketturbo, they would be lucky to break 13's

a civic with a type R swap is a drivers race with a new edge stang as well

It's always fun to show some dumb kid thats thinks's he's the sh*t just how slow they're 14 second carsreally are. But I never take a Honda for granted after I saw a CRX run a 10.5 @130something.
Yup. I guy I know had a CRX with an H22 swap and a turbo and ran in the 10s consistantly.

i find that hard t believe, you sound like a ricer.
Why would that be hard to believe? A CRX with a K20a2 swap would be extremely potent.

about as potent as a stock 2V.... amazing

with the two grand you spend on the engine for the swap the 2v has FI and is still wiping the floor with you... it's a losing battle with this comparison

Not sure. His shop worked on my car when I was in N. Carolina. I talked to his brother and his brother told me it was in the 10s, I later asked him what it ran and what all it had and he says he usually runs around a 10.6 and it was an H22 stock block swap on 15 Psi. He never mentioned anything about breaking anything.
