Hrmmm....interesting, but I still would be fairly confident against one...this is the first I've ever heard of an S2K into the 13's stock, I doubt it is a common achievement.

Last night while I was driving home an S2000 kept on getting next to me and speeding off then slowing back down. We caught a red further down the road and we both knew it was on. We both took off pretty easy then I heard him get on it so I did the same. I heard his V-tec kick in for a second but then I got above 4000 rpm and my exhaust drowned it out hahaha.I was a good CL ahead by the end of first andby the time I slammed it into second andgot up to65mph he was a good 2-3 car lengths back. He wouldn't even pull up next to me at the next light lol. Man I love this car.
That's one car I never see or get a chance to play with. Nice kill.

There is no way that more S2000s have run in the 13's stock than a new edge gt. I haven't seen the forums, but I know from various car reviews and driving my friends S2000 that they are not 13 second cars stock.

Nice kill and I'm not surprised at all. And why do some of you wanna run an s2k? They run mid 14's stock, so your S197's shouldnt have any problem.
Maybe if there's a 12 yr. old behind the wheel. There's been plenty run high 13's bone stock. I actually think there's been more run 13's bone stock than new edge gt's. They'd give an auto s197 a good race from a highway roll, if not beat it, because they wouldn't have to downshift.
You can say whatever you want, but s2000's are most definately 13 second cars with some practice. If you click the link you'll see a bone stock 02 ran 13.648, and I haven't heard of a bone stock new edge doing the same.

just because a car is capable of a 13.6, doesn't mean you're going to see that out of every single one on the road. new edge GTs have dipped into the 13s, but everyone knows the norm is low 14s, so we generally call it a low 14 second car. i've heard of s2000s going high 13s quite a bit, so i'd be one to call it a high 13 second car. equal drivers, an s2000 should be able to get away from a new edge.

I agree that just because 1 guy ran a 13.6, not everybody can, but I think they're capable of better times stock for stock. It could go either way in a race with a manual gt, but they're far from mid 14's with a good driver, assomeone mentioned above. I'd say an s2000 would take a stock auto gt 90% of the time too.

I hate to mag race but here are the times for the S2000 in a road test against a 350z and mazda RX8.
http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ecs_price.html

The 0-60 is 5.8 and the it traps below 100.

Here is another test with a 2005 GT. Its 0-60 in 5.1 and traps at 103.

Stock for stock there should be no doubt who will win. Even if it was close the GT should come out on top not the S2000.
