How do you launch?
Hi guys I was just wondering if you guys could give me some tips on how to luanch my car? The other day I lost to a 99 camaro threw 1st and 2nd by a car length it was an auto with only exaust and cai. I never raced from a dig before so i wanted to no how to luanch it so this dosent happen again. It happened on a street near my house i did spin but only a little more then the camaro. So thanks guys any input will help.
If you only spun a little bit it sounds like it was a decent launch. If the wheel spin gets out of control feather the clutch a little bit. Once you get traction jut stay in the gas.
I agree though. Go to the track and make a few passes. Try to get that 60ft time around 2.0

Wow props for actually admiting to that (don't let any termi owners hear you acknowledge this event or you might as well grab a pocket protector and have your lunch money in hand)
Rolling off the line slow and smooth is the ONLY way I can launch without blowing the tires off... it sounds like the Camaro you raced corrected his traction issues from the factory and hooked pretty well. It just takes practice and patience to launch (even when the car next to you is pulling away you just have to keep taking it easy)..once you reach a certain speed (practice will help you figure it out) you can go WOT and make up for the lost ground.... if you just blow the tires you usually end up in a bad spot and can't make up the ground, I would rather lose a little at first and have a chance to get it back then get too agressive and give away the race.
Cheers

Normally, what I do, or have done about 4 times, is do a brake burnout, hold at about 2500 RPM, and let her rip off the line. It is not the best on your breaks, I have only done that on cars I know will pose a serious threat to me off the line. Definitely go to the track and test your 60fter. Do it a few times. Try to make sure you time your accel. right with your traction, second your tractions picks up, put the pedal all the way down. Good luck!
