Supercharged S550?

Supercharged S550?
I had my first solid street race in a while last night...from a dig...up to 90mph...on Van Nuys...against a new white S550 Benz.
Me:
full weight with 3 passengers (4 people)
Him:
blacked out tint and lights, debadged except for the s550 badge
2 passengers talking lots of trash
a supercharger???
I was trying to play with an e46 m3 in the twisties off of laurel canyon, but a minivan or three got in the way and we couldn't have any fun. When we got back to the main road, he wouldn't go.
All of a sudden, the S550 comes FLYING past me at like 90mph, but gets stuck at the next light. I pulled up next to him. We look over and nod at them, and I get the nod back. It's on. The light took forEVER though.
The passenger in the back seat rolls his window down and starts smack talking about me not having anything hot, and how they'll kick my *** "even without the 600 back at the house". I just politely nodded to their idiocy.
The light turns green.
I launched at 3000 with a quick slip and gripped alright for a bumpy road and all that weight (probably the reason I stuck). I had a fender on him through first. I spun pretty good at the top of first though, and gave up the momentum I had gained.
I powershifted second and got the momentum back. Second gear was pretty close, though I moved to 3/4car or so ahead.
Third gear slammed right into place, and I just started trotting away like it was nothing. I let off at 95 or so with 1.5-2 car lengths on him, and let him do his flyby.
Here's what I don't understand. Online it says nothing about the S550 having a supercharger, but this guy DID. It was the typical Kompressor sound of other model Benzs. It wasn't an intake whistle or slipping belt...I know cars and it was a supercharger. It had "that" whine when he revved it up at me, and when it went flying by the first time, and when he was next to/behind me racing. Could it have been a rebadged s55 amg? I don't think it was, and it didn't have the "v8 kompressor" plates on the front fenders.
The car was faster than an s550 should be...14.2, 0-60 in 6.1, etc. I would have put a lot more distance on him even with the extra weight (I ran 13.3 at 106 with the 20s and stereo in...).

s550s don't have supercharger. they are almost 4500lbs and they have 382hp - 391tq
0-60 6.1 sec so a stock GT should walk on them! maybe he had an aftermarket blower. did you hear anything? actually since he was only 1-2 cars back, i say he def. had something otherwise you would put a football field on him!!

I think your dead on Sleeper...The S55 AMG is basiclya S550 with a blower and suspention, and a S55 stock runs mid 12's, so I would imagine a close comparison with a blown S550....Good Kill!!!

Nice kill man! Yeah I'm pretty sure those aren't supercharged from the factory, he might have had some aftermarket work done. Which is weird because those are more of a luxury cruiser from what I remember.
Now that SL65 AMGs are the big boys right? Those are the ones that look like tuned down SLRs? Would be cool to see what you guys would do against each other.

a) An SL65 would have walloped me, especially on the high end...beingbetter in straight line performance to a new v10 m5.
b) A mid-12s car *should* have beat me by a little considering I was weighing in around 4500lbs for the race (3500 + 4 people + stereo + 20s + sound deadener).
c) Doodad-- The sound I indeed heard was a blower. It was a louder version of the c230, 320, e55, etc kompressors that I have ridden in and been around. Those guys at Edmunds ran a horrible time...An SL55 is a bottom 12 second car....So you can imagine a car with 4 extra pistons in the same body chassis doing...Complete owning on anything domesticexcept a 2008 Viper...

The S550 is a pretty fast car. I've ridden in one and even though its a big sedan the thing can move. Mercedes really did a good job with the new V8 they put in all their cars.
The S550 does 0-60 in 5.4 according to mercedes website who usually underates times. It has a 7-speed automatic that shifts really fast. If that S550 really was supercharged he would have beated you easily. My guess is that he was stock and the 3 passengers, stereo, and 20's were holding you back more than you think.
