So there I was, minding my own business driving down the highway in the middle of nowhere and a little Mini Cooper painted like a British Flag comes flying up from behind me. He slows down and starts driving next to me jumping ahead every once in awhile. Great....someone else sees a Mustang and wants to make himself feel like his car is just as good. I let him go on by and end up pulling up next to him at a red light about 20 minutes later.

He puts the "car" in neutral and starts revving it up (which sounded like a bunch of pissed off hornets). The light turns green and he floors it as I just leave at a normal pace. Hey, I'm 30, have a mortgage and am up to my ears in debt - - I dont need a ticket.

Well, to make a long story short I end up catching up to him on the freeway later on. We're cruising along doing about 75 and his passenger rolls down the window and asks why I'm afraid to race. I ignore him. He said a few choice words about mewhich really didnt bother me, but then he said that only p***ies drive Mustangs. So for me, for everyone on this forumand for everyone who ever has and ever will own or drive a Mustang - - I did it.

I put my sunglasses back on (left it in 5th gear) and toyed with him for the next mile (doing about 80-85) at this point. I let him pull ahead of me about a half car length and his passenger leaned out the window and started laughing and pointing at the Stang. So I drop a gear, nail the gas andblow byhim and never saw him again. Ipulled over for gas a little while later and switched over my GPS to see how many miles I had left to go...the max value for the speed was 109. Cool !!

Oh yeah - - as I wentby I stuck my finger out the window and waved for all of us

 

Ha Ha, nice man! The dude must have had a huge chip on his shoulder to go after the mustang.

Mini's are hilarious...they're one of the most useless cars on the road, but hey it's practically a BMWright? So it must be great? Ha Ha Ha.....

No its an "S" model. The Mini Cooper S is S/C and would most likely have pulled on this guy, so nice kill, and your lucky it wasnt an "S".

 

well could have been an s with a bad driver. the s is not that impressive its like a s/c cobalt still a lil toy.

 

If the race was from a dig, than yeah the Stang should win. The Mini Cooper S's come with a S/C engine and a 6spd manual tranny and from a roll should beat a v6 Mustang, 3.8 or 4.0. I raced a Mini Cooper S about 2years ago in my 01 GT, we raced from a 40mph roll up to 85 and I won by 1/2 car. I have an auto GT, but still, from a roll the Cooper S's and a Cobalt SS/SC should beat a v6 Mustang.

that is hilarious. I always laugh everytime I see a mini let alone one trying to rev me. I had that happen, a mini S pulls up, revs, sounds like a loud bumble bee, I do the same, and the guys eyes light up, he floors it, I wait a second, then go, and I catch up at the 65 mark, and pass him, and give him a special MF wave!!! That was the funnies kill I have ever seen, damn man, I wish I could have been there to see you toast him.
