...2006 Cobalt LS (LT? I donno don care). I was in my 02 Saturn though. [8D]

On a serious note, I'm thinking about doing some chassis weight reduc. I have access to a plasma cutter, and every type of welder I can imagine. Anyone know how I could get my hands on an AutoCAD, SolidEdge, SolidWorks, or other comparable file for the S197 chassis?

I would be cutting out sections of metal, riveting in aluminum floor panels, and welding in tubular steel supports. The end result goal is 300lb weigh reduction in addition to 5% increased torsional rigidity and 10% increased chassis stiffness. (If I do anything...which is why I need to modify it via computer first)

IMO, I would stay away from cutting your car. I know what your trying to do, I respect it 100%, but once you start cutting your car, I think you start to take away from the DD part of the car, I don't know I am weird about stuff like that. Just join us F/I . But I still love what you have done N/A.

If your not planning on keeping that car forever I wouldn't start cutting pieces out. The resale value would go right down the toilet. You've taken the car pretty far N/A. Maybe it's just time to consider a turbo or some spray.
