Thats very funny kid...but now you have a few more Corvette kills to fabricate...lets see, you already said youbeat a nitrous C5, then you said you beat a supercharged C5..the only thing left for you now is a Heads and Cam C5 and a Turbo C5. By the way, how much hp are you putting the the tires Corvette killer?
+1

looking at all of his previous posts... he never once listed his entire modlist, never once mentionedshortblock, nor the PSI he is pushing... to beat a supercharged C5 with a supercharged S197, theres no getting around having to invest in a shortbblock

not to mention.... who the hell runs into a juiced C5 and a supercharged C5 that actually wants to racewithin a 5 day period? [&:]

Corvettes with power adders are an uncommon sight as it is....But that is a very good and highly interesting question you brought up Morbid.......I was thinking that maybe the Vette the OP ran up against had a VERY CONSERVATIVE setup.........But yes, running into a blown, and then a juiced Corvette within a few days is a million to one..

i like that mod lists "working on buying"

it would take a really really bad driver to take a supercharged c5 into the low 12s. an average driver would be able to run 11s sall day long. an agressive driver could take one into the 10s

What do you have done on your car? I can barley take on a stock C6 at a light with my GT. I have around 560HP with the new Pulley on my Vortech. My car is an auto with TC and 4:30 on top of it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not destroying it by no means but just enough to get in front on merging lanes. Most of it is due to the auto.

I'm not raisingany flags but I wonder if you didn't find yourselfin similar situation I was in a few weeks ago. A dumbass(me) got to a light and got distracted by this girl crossing the street. Another guy got to the light in a STR-4 and threw a few revs. The light changed and I dumped the clutch in third gear....[&o][&o][&o]There's a punk somewhere posting a kill against a modded gt500.

Wouldn't a C5 with blower be capable of taking on a Z06?

This should be good... anyways, Driving home from work coming off the beach i go past a C5 vette with rims and a middle aged guy driving it which usually means a no go. Anyways we get a red light together and i look over at him and he is fittling around in is "cockpit" for god knows what reason so i'm thinking he doesn't even know i exist. SO the light turns green and i pull out normally waiting to see if he took his viagra and wants to play, im about a half length in front when i hear him gun it and his tires chirp, which is music to my ears, so i in turn answer back deliverance banjo battle style with my own melody of engine notes and a chirp of the rubber and proceed to put a few lengths on him and go on my marry way.

Up the road he comes running up on my *** like i just bitch slapped his momma so i know he wants to go again. Only problem is there is too much traffic so he follows me for a little bit. Finally we get a clearing and i let him get around me but he tries to be sneaky and floors it as soon as he gets to my door while I'm waiting for him to get even. So in response i mash the pedal before he has chance to gain too much ground and pull ahead about 3/4 of a car. After that we hit traffic and had a small chat, he bitched about how he couldn't get traction on the street (hmmm thats funny i only head a tire chirp not any spinning). Anyways fun times, would love to go at it from a dig with my DRs on.

Nope he was the antagonist, so he was fully aware of what was about to transpire.

Absolutely. A blown C5 can handle a C5 and C6 Z06 through the 1/4 mile. The C5 will actually stay ahead of the C5 Z06 but the C6 Z06 would find it way ahead again up in the triple digits. This blown GT kill on a Blown C5 is quite puzzling..Guy must have not know how to shift..because C5 + Supercharger = 11s all day long...

Having raced a blown/juiced C5 at the track relatively recently, I feel the urge to speak up.

It was a C5 Z06. They are a mid-12 car stock, debate as you wish that is what they are.

The owner (who is an adament racer and mentioned about 100 passes at the track in his car) mentioned a few things that were quite interesting. The first was that, having blown motors in the same kind of car (whether THAT car or a previously owned one, I didn't make him specify), he only felt comfortable on 6psi with a Vortech while shooting a 50 or 75 shot, or 8psi without spray. This is with an intercooler, and all supporting modifications.

He ran 11.3 at 122 against me on a 1.7 60', with a car that was putting down 560rwhp according to the tuning done the week prior. He consistantly dropped the time that night (test n tune) and got it to a 10.8 at 124 IIRC, but most of his runs were around 11.2. He liked that setup, though about 20hp less than 8psi alone, because it was more trackable and consistant. He said he ran mid-11s all day with just boost.

This being a z06, I would imagine that the same modification to a regular C5 vette (non-z) would yield similar results, but 50-75hp less and about half a second slower, aka a mid-11 car when driven properly. This seems to make good sense considering a stock c5 non-z is a low-13s to 13-flat car.
