It wasnt really a race... I was behind him at a light. I decide I'm going to speed up as fast as him to show him some S197 love, but stay behind him. Well, when the light turns green he is gone. I floor it but 1st gear is gone and so is he. I may have pulled a little in second, but it was no contest after 2nd. By 65mphish there was just no hope period. Bye bye cayman S.

I'm not sure if Porsche just plain killed off its Carrera by making the Cayman that darn fast, or if this guy was modded (doubt it), or if there is just that large of a gap between the mustang and an exotic... but he was gone.

Anyways, thats my sobering moment to share.

Obviously werent trying enough 0 - 60 is around 5.2 on the cayman. But after a bit it would pull away due to aerodynamics.

Either way you may have got beat but that is one seriously fugly Porsche.

Performance
295 hp @ 6,250 rpm
0-60 mph in 5.1 s
Top Track Speed: 171 mph

Obviously will kick *** on a stock Mustang GT. Ugly? Not really! Just drop the wing and it looks good to me.

They still make the 911, the Cayman is positioned between the Boxter and the 911.

The Mustang might be able to keep up with it in a drag race, but the Cayman would win in overall top speed and handling.

I should point out my only mods are suspension, intake, delete plates, aluminum driveshaft, tune. I would think a F/I stang would have no problem at all.....

I guess I was just stunned at his speed. He took off and basically just kept getting faster. No jerking around from shifting or anything, just a constant acceleration.

Oh and Im a really bad driver.

I think thats the regular cayman^ The S has more HP than that. I think.

EDIT NVM!

For the price though id rather take a base LS2targa vette and throw a blower and call it a day.

Then I dont see why you are suprised... I think it is pretty much a drivers race between the two cars.

LOL well I am a bad driver, truth hurts.

Anyways, I love the stang because, going by numbers, its a challenger of exotics. I once posted on here stunned around how some 2001 lamborghini was like .4 seconds faster than a stock GT, and that was it. And of course a modded mustang should be able to challenge a corvette. You gotta love it.

I guess I had hoped I wouldve made this cayman S driver think "Damn. He spent 35% what I spent on my car and hes just as fast". Didnt happen.... but I tried.

According to the Porsche web site, Sherwood is right about the hp.

It's a sad day when the good doctor has to make a grocery-getter (Cayenne) to pay the bills.....
