Default S197 vs S197

I was comin home just now and ran into a red s197. I passed him, later he comes next to me. We begin to give eachother the look like wanna race, ya know. I think he was stick im auto. He had a ew exterrior mods, maybe he wasnt stock. Anyway he comes to almost to my door an i floor it, i let off 1 sec later then i see that he did floor it when i didpunched i again we stayed dead even till 120 something , then he started pulling Everyone pulls on me at 125(ish).. Is i because i take my over drive off. We raced again, thi time he got the jump and like a 1 sec almost 2 sec jump we went even but he pulled again, im guessing since he got the jump that was the difference or he had mods, But pretty much even. I was wondering how i can do against a stick gt from a roll. I shouldve got stick ttoo but ill just change my trans mission in the future. Good race not really even but it was fun.

generally the stick will out perform the auto... but autos are great because you never miss the shift... depending on the driver mod with a stick you have a chance

I think a tune is mandatory with an auto. Ask any auto owner who's installed an intake and tune. I have no idea how overdrive works, but i'm guessing if you have it off then you're locked out of 5th gear and 4th probably runs out around 125. Obviously a stock manual is faster than a stock auto just because it looses less power through the transmission and the ability to shift were you want. Call Doug at B@m@chips.com and get a retune for it.
