Default anyone have problems with these?

Today was my first time at the track, expecting high 12s but got a best of 13.326 at 104.44 on a 1.955 60 ft (my best 60 ft of the day was a 1.8-something)...even with setting the nittos at 15 psi and heating them up, I still got some spin lauchingabove 3K (was also spinning in 2nd a bit and chirped third once or twice!)...and still got wheel hop with the steeda non-adj upper and lower ca's (stop the hop pkg)...however I was in Jupiter, FL and it was at least 95 degrees all day long, and I suppose that can affect traction? Just wondering how everyone else is doing with these tires and these ca's. Thanks!

p.s. what is everyone else launching at with dr's? and what psi? My best launch was at 3K rpm...
BTW this is my first experience using DRs with an MT car...should my burnout be a 2nd gear clutch drop? (I was using first)

theres a track in jupiter? where at?

nitto dr never hooked up for me at moroso, when i switched to mickey thompsons my car bogged actually. as for the wheel hop, i never got any after just changing the lca, ive been through steeda and bmr lca and they both performed equally, just the steeda bushings were crappy.

^^^ moroso motorsports park (some say it's in WPB but technically in Jupiter)
...really, you think maybe I should dump the nittos? It was 92 degrees F plus heat index, but still I chirped third once or twice after heating up the tires! And that was lift-throttle upshifting. And the steeda ca's, you say you got equal performance out of those and the bmrs but steedas had sh*tty bushings, so do you think I should trade up?
also what psi are you running and how are you launching with the mts (and are they dot et street or a straight et drag non-dot?) My friend has a ws6 with LTs, a dry shot and 3.73, and launches at about 5k rpm with et streets and gets a 1.6 60ft, runs mid 11s...
p.s. do you do a second gear burnout (that's what my friend told me to do)
also are you running mt et streets or drag radials?

is your car lowered at all?

you may want to try relocation brackets if you dont have them even if your car isnt lowered. if you are lowered than they are a must have, not a nice to have addition.

No I'm not lowered and have no plans on lowering it. The non-adj. upper and lower ca's are my only suspension mod. But I know the car is at least high-12s capable with the current mods list and better driving...I'm not doing any more modsuntil I realize the car's potential with the current mods, thenI might do a 75 shot. Thanks, though...

well if you are still getting wheel hop (maybe because you went with the non-adjustable uca), i would suggest you get the relo brackets...whether your caris lowered or not. $100 bolt-on, and if it eliminates your wheel hop then its well worth it right? shavea few tenths off you 60 ft. and you are there

Hey there. Im runing Nitto Dr's also, I set them at 11.5 Psi do a second Gear burnout for aorund 5 seconds just enough for some smoke and launch at around 2700-2800 Rpms. My best 60' was a 1.79 but thats just cause I probally didnt have the power to get there any faster. But I race a Sunshine over in Clearwater FL. and there track prep is not always the best but still managed to pull that 1.79

when the ca's went on I was running the factory pirellis and would get wheelhop ona clutch drop under 4K rpm. After the install I could sidestep the clutch a little above idle and smoke the tires up to redline with no hop. But that was crummy street tires, and not my current nittos. Think I'll work on my launches...thanks...

sounds good... but when you finally get tired of practicing and realize that you're geometry is off, don't say i didn't tell you so.

p.s. 2nd gear burnout is a good idea

11.5 psi eh? I'd be thrilled with a 1.7x 60 FT. Funny story, when I got to the track and pulled out my tire psi gauge I realized it was one of the ones that doesn't register any lower than 20 psi. I had to run around trying to buy one, and ended up borrowing someone else's since I wouldn't pay 45 bucks for the moroso one.Needless to say I pickedone up when I got back to town. Thanks for the info.
