a 04 sti, all he has is a cat back system. im running a c&l street with the brenspeed 91 tube and a slp cat back. i was told from my buddy that it would be close as long as we didnt go from a dig. what do you guys think.

 

sounds about right.. go from a 20mph roll or a 40mph roll and I think you could win. It will be close either way, but from a dig yeah you are done if he knows how to launch and drive.

 

The higher the roll speed the better your odds.

 

from a dig he's got you. those cars are quick. really quick. ugly as **** but quick. from a role u have alot better chance. that AWD is deadly

 

once again..........why does everyone think awd cars are God off the line? If you cant launch it, its worthless..........that goes for anything....

 

Ok then, how about this... Stock GT vs. Stock STI, both are great drivers and know how to launch their car. Both are also onstreet tires. Now, who's likely going to get out of the hole quicker?

Don't you have to launch at like 5,000 RPM's to actaully have a "good" launch for an AWD car?

 

AWD are better off the line! it's a fact. Given both have good drivers. Even with a novice-level driver it's still pretty hard for him to launch that bad that he'll lose from a GT with your mods.

STI's are get low 13's stock! with his lil mods he should be in the high 12's. i've personally dragged against an older WRX (not Sti) but it had quite a few mods, he beat me by 3 cars. (My car is slower than a stock GT because of my 20" wheels but i still had a pretty good launch)

Alot of WRX owners i know personally open their boost a little before racing so watch out!
