cooldown techniques

HMMMM... Vortech says not to put ice on the blower housing if I remember... contraction of the metal in the housing could cause the impeller to bind (as I remember the rational).
Mark... Guess u have not had any issues on your KB?

Ice is one of the factors that alowed me to run 526 rwhp on the stock motor for over a year. I NEVER ran the car hot, ever.
Crap, I bring 10-11 bags of ice to the track every time and usually use 2-3 bags a pass. My resevoir holds 2 1/2 bags and in between runs I just set one right on the blower. When the ice starts to melt, I also make a hole on both sides and let the cold water drip on both sides of the manifold. Icewater with the EH20 pump on will cool the car ice cold within 15 minutes no matter how hot it is...

^^^ do you have pics or a link for this reservoir? Never seen one...you mount it to the engine, leave the hood up with the engine off? Thanks...
edit: oh you're talking about a liquid intercooler for your turbo, right? I'm NA...

I'm talking about the water tank resevoir that comes with any water cooled FI kit. What I did was fab a much larger one so I can hold 25 lbs of ice. Sorry the pics are blurry but my camera broke although I'm taking some new pics this weekend as the engine bay looks much different now with the new parts...
