I dont race to much... I have an 02 GT... its not overly fast... and all the "rice" as you call it around here are SRT-4, STi, and Evos. Dang winters force everyone to buy AWD... On top of that the rest of the muscle belongs to the Maros and Vettes... any who, I like to just try to beat my own times at the track cause well... it doesnt beat much else.

You know we can argue cost all day, 8 cylinder is better then four period. With the same setup the cylinders will win.

That is one asinine, ignoramus statement. 8 is better than 4, period???? So, a 2.5 liter V8 beats a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder always?

It's pretty clear you don't understand physics very well...

No a 2.5 liter 4 gets beat by a 5L 8 that is the whole displacement thing I mentioned earlier... It comes with the cylinders

Sad part is that this thread will probably hit 8 pages and 300+ posts and everyone will, at the end, still be the stupid'er for it.

Nope. To me, the Mustang GT costs more to mod. Parts are cheaper but you just have to put a lot of them on it. Like say....axle back, h/x-pipe, lt headers, gears, ds, t-body,intake and tune. You would be a very close match, but not quite to a Turboback exhaust(includes catback&downpipe), uppipe, headers, reflash/tuned, short ram intake EVO/STi imo. But then you have to put some bigger tires and rims on the stang for traction. That's straight up 2Gs more. Then if you really wanna beat those 4 bangers, then you have to supercharge it...thats 5K more (discount intake&tune if so)...but wait, now you gotta suit the car for it, so suspension, struts and brakes are a must. And if you drive a manual, clutch, flywheel and drivetrain. Then comes the cosmetics...you didnt think on leaving the Stang all dull after putting those Gs on it now did ya? So a good front lip/bodykit/spoiler/stripes add more to the cost....there's a price to pay for beauty and power. And if you wanna kick pass the 450s then forged internals are a cost too.

To some STi/EVOs may lack/have [only]one/both, but to me they are some fine pieces of machinery, i just dont dig the fact that while some people may love it, some may hate it...i rather keep my nice V8 powah. But you get my explanation. I respect those cars.

I don't understand what's the complex some [V8 owners] people have against them. Envy? I certainly don't, but I do admire.

-Karma.

No not too much compared to a turbo
Actully a Good Brembo Brake kit cost WAY more than a GOOD Turbo .. U can get aTurbo for like 500-1k...... For a good one.... the reason they cost so muchis for the kit/piping all the CUSTOM piping.....

I paid $150 for my new turbo & mines far larger then what you find on evos & STi's You do know many cars have turbos stock, Omnis, Daytonas, Caravans, DSM's, Saabs, MUSTANGS, T-Birds, sunbirds, the list goes on. Did the turbos make these car expensive?? HA NOT. next argument please.

So, Is it the displacment or the number of cylinders? The Ford Taurus SHO has a 3.4 V8.. Not so big eh? theres smaller V8's. Or how bout 6.7L Inline 6 that put out more torque stock then most street V8's heavily modded!
