Altima surprised me!
This evening I'm in a hurry to get home, trying to catch a green light and I fly by the normal chromed out Altima sedan blaring rap through the system. I miss the light, [:@], but then see him beside me checking out the Stang, whose looking sexy freshly detailed with the top down if I do say so myself. Then, he revs, and almost sounded decent (or at least not too lawnmower-y). Theres not too much room to play as the two lanes become one a couple blocks ahead but we gun it anyways. I dont have the time to do a proper launch, AUTO, but I do have TCS/OD off. We go to about 45 mph before he has to merge and I see he's only a half car length behind me, I expected to dust him! What can you do to mod an Altima?! [&:]
Those 3.5s are pretty fast for what people think they are. I guess it all depends on the launch. Races from a dig are VERY different than the ones from a roll...him being decently modded andlaunching right and you not doing a good launch mightve been why, who knows. Are you automatic?

Well, the newer Altima 3.5's have the same engine as the 350Z, and are capable of running as low as 14.20-30's for the new Coupes and SE-R's. Typically, the common SE modelsedans are usually upper 14's however. They have pretty decent aftermarket support as well, so they have some potential. The guy prolly had some healthy bolt-ons.If he was turboed, you would've known.....

+1, and I actually think the Mustang would have lost.

I raced an new 2007 Altima Coupe, 3.5, and I blew it away from a dig and a rice roll. His car was all decked out with like 22's and stuff, tints, lowering kit, exhaust and what have you. They are fast, but, against a stang, only beat one if the stang driver is 4.
