I may not have done very well at Fun Ford Weekend at Norwalk a couple weeks ago, but I more than made up for it last night. I not only won my class, but went on to beat the winners of the other classes to become the Hot Norwalk Night Grand Champion! I was pumped up to say the least. Dial in 14.35, the heat and the passenger slowed me down a bit, but I was killer on the lights all night.
Two runs I coasted to an easy win because the other guys were asleep on the tree, one run a guy never got to his car so I got a free pass, and then we pulled out of a deck of cards to decide the by run and I got that too. Then it got more interesting.

Congrats. At my hometown track they only do classes, not a grand champion. I've won my class once and come runner-up once. I thought it was hilarious that they gave us big beer mugs with the track insignia as trophies!

 

Went to the other track I race at last night and my luck held out pretty good. Not exactly what I was aiming for, but I did get runner up. 14.30 dial in and the car went 14.32, 14.31, 14.30, and 14.29 but the other guy broke out by more. Final run I did what I hate to do more than just about anything else, redlight. Got a bit jumpy and lost because of it. The other guy's run was horrible so it only ticks me off more that I would have won without that redlight. Oh well, I guess I was overdue for another. It had been a couple of weeks since I had done it last. So, it is +1 more trophy. I'm up to 4 trophies, a T-shirt, and a leather jacket this year. If I keep going at this rate I'll have to build a trophy case or something.
