Default Need Help pt.2!!!!!

well, tonight was another baaaad night for the sn95. Finally made it to the track for the first time, and it'll be a while before i go back. Talk about pure embarassment
Heres a little low-down of the night:

BEST OVERALL

1/8-10.079 [:'(][:@][&:][:-]
60ft-2.484 [:'(][:@][:-][&:]
MPH-75.89
r/t-.248

BEST RUN

1/8-10.079
60ft-2.507
mph-72.66
r/t-.449

how pitiful is this fellaz?? the very first run was a 10.25.., bummed me out, but i spun pretty good, thought "nothing but room for improvement", yeah, right. For the most part, i was spinning all night, my fault. my best runs (10.08's 10.09's, couple each) were while not doing ANY burnout, and pretty much riding the clutch the best i could w/o destroying it. I was powershifting all night, which eventually had my clutch slipping real good after 1st-2nd.

The only highlight of the night was me beating, an 03 cobra. yes, you read right. Lol. The guy was driving someone elses car, never before been in it, and he just absolutely destroyed the tires. I kinda got every run on film ("kinda" thanks to the wife ), but my comp is being pretty honory, so ill getem up as quick as i can.

as far as that cobra run..... me=r/t-.248 60ft-2.554 1/8-10.098 mph-75.89
him=r/t-.484 60ft-2.6821/8-10.141 mph-76.19

we ran again, he heated the streeters a lil less, got it too hook a little bit, ran a 9.28 to my 10.20

I ended up getting in 14 passesI believe, got lotta practice. just need more i guess, thats a pretty $hitty feeling to sit at the light, hear thetiresscreech like crazy (usually musicto my ears) then straight bog down.

At least I'm asexy loser (as far as my car goes anyways [8D]),I can at leastput my top down androll on, which is ironic cause i didnt want todo anything but hide. All in all it wasfun, a good experience, andno matter whatI say, I'll be back real soon

What are your current mods? Your highest trap speed indicates you should be running in the mid 9s or so but your 60's are terrible

mods listed in sig...... Typhoon Pi intake swap, pro products 75mm tb & plenum, bbk cai, and mac weld-ins w/ 2 1/2 tips (why i thought it was a catback unit ) Ive been trying to trade/sell my lt's so I can get an o/r x and my clutch so I can get my gears installed too (sitting in basement since last nov [:@]) The car still has original wires, not sure about plugs. I recently went to full synthetic, ummmm, thats about it. My traps were a very very consistent 72's (72.66 72.49 72.36 72.52 72.42 72.39 72.52) 3 75's (75.89 75.57 75.84) and one 74.91 one 71.94 (10.34 [:'(]) also one 69.***

Criticizm: Stop spinning

More Criticizm: My wee 4 banger would have raped you [8D]

E-Coaching: Don't get discouraged with some bad times, just keep on getting
out there for some more practice. Get the 60' down and the ET
will come down. The mph is probably good for 9.2-9.5 depending
on how good the 60' is.

lol "wee four banger", that 20psi blew the "wee" factor out the water [8D] yeah, if I can get that 60ft down to 2.1-2.2, thats putting me in the 9.7's right there. Unfortunately for me, IF is the biggest word in my dictionary. Ive never tried to practice launching on the street really, maybe a time or two, my car has the original clutch, so Ive been too chicken-$hit to play around too much. I'll get there one day....

Get a set of used nittos off someone and go to the track with them.

ANYTHING has got to help you with that 60' time. *not to be too harsh but* 2.4's are ridiculously horrd, but you knew that already.. ;-)

It's good to hear you had fun though, I didn't have much my first time out at all.

Sounds like you are not getting any kind of weight shift from front to rear to get the tires to "plant and go", that is where I would start and that would also be the cheapist start to your journey to a sub-10...

Eibach would be the first site I would look on for the correct set-up.

yeah, and that was a high 2.4(8) and that was the BEST of the night [:@] I def had the driver mod working against me for sure. And I thought I was a decent driver cause I could powershift w/o ripping 2nd or 3rd out (which I did almost destroy 2nd on one run [&:]) It def takes a lot more than that, thats for sure. I know the car has a lot more in it the way it is, maybe .4-.5 if I can get those 60's down. Of course Im catching hell from little bro who when he was only 19 (im 23) went down the track with his manual 87 gt, dam near stock cept for weld in flows and bumped timing, he ran 9.3 with a 2.3 60ft.

As far as the nittos go, Im not too far from needing new tires in the rear, so Ill hopefully just buy a set of 275's, since I got my lil Honda beater now, I know the d/r's will last more than a year.

GT500........as far as your advice goes, cant I just lean my seat all the way back, thatll put all 280lbs on the rear tires, I might even pull the fronts up an inch or two [8D] Suspension is def something thats gonna happen down the road. I have to get the parts I already have on the car before I can look that far ahead. *Now currently accepting donations/labor help for L/T & gear install**
