A few Kills...
Hey guys, I wanted to share this with you.....Some of you may remember that eclipse forum war we all had.....So, on my way to work, I raced a few cars. The first was our lovely 4G eclipse GT. He had an exhaust, and that is all I could determine. He pulls up next to me at the light, and gives a little rev. Light turns green and I act normal and accel. slowly. He floors it and gets next to me, and revs more now.....We stop at the next light and this guy revs to where it hits his rev limiter. I decided to race him. I look over and give a quick nod. I did a brake launch perfectly at 3K, with no screeching, just a smooth fly off the line, and I put about 3 cars initially, and keep going up to about 75, when he is too far back. We stop at the next light, he starts to go somewhat hard and puts his hazards on, I was like WTF!!!! He turns off at the next available street. Next, I come across a Shelby GT that thinks his extra 19 HP stock is big sh**. We race from a dig, and I put a good car and a half on him til about 85, and he drives by,, revs, and turns away. Another idiot on the road. Next, I come up to yet another Evo.....It was an Evo VII. We go from a roll, fro 35, I put it down, I pull hard , he is 1/2 car behind, and starts to pull, but after I hit 95ish, he shut down, and I was almost a 1/2 car ahead.I wanted to go again, to make sure it wasn't a fluke or anything, but he waved me off as he turned off at the following light. Pretty eventful morning. I'm sure with a better driver, that Evo would have either matched me or even pulled on me, and put a good length.....Thanks for reading everyone!
They should, but even then, this was a drivers race between the Shelby GT and my GT. I beat him good. Even with a good driver, it is basically a tie.....As Far as the Evo, they pull damn hard. Probably an average driver.
Nice kills, for the most part I'm not shocked you wasted these guys. Though the Shelby GT-H situation is interesting. I don't know what you have done for modifications, but I think the gt-h's came with a ford racing cai and exhaust system that nets them at something like 325 at the engine. I suppose thats really a drivers race, and I guess we know who was the better driver haha.
I used to have a 93 tune, 73 mm throttle, 3.73 gears, roush intake, roush pulley kit, and the roush exhaust. now just the exhaust. trying to save my gas, those gears did not get along with my gas tank....The shelby's are basically gt's with appearane mods and a louder exhaust profile, from what I know. He was a fairly decent driver, as he did not burn through his tires, he actually took off well, but, since my reaction was better and my launch, I pulled hard...Since he did not have a power adder that could reel me in, I stayed where I was....
Shelby GT's have the FRPP X-pipe, a better (but still conservative) tune, the FRPP intake, and FRPP stingers. I think they may have bits from the FRPP handling pack too.
EVO's are overrated.
also..you said it was an EVO7? Or do u mean an EVOVIII (8)? The only have like 240hp. They are that fast on a roll. EVOIX's are a different story. They have more power and are lighter than the VIII's.
good kills though. Gotta love the ricer fly bys!

it was an Evo VII. I've raced both the Evo VIII's and the Evo IX's, and won and lost to both cars. They are much faster, and typically beat S197's stock for stock....Damn Ricers....
