Well, i havnt been driving my Mach1 for a while b/c of the wintery stuff like ice and snow. But it is supposed to be in the high 50's and sunny this weekend. So, last night (friday) i returned to local cruise spot and came to find that things have changed a lot since ive been gone. There are more cops!!! BUT I WAS STILL ABLE TO SQUEEZE IN A RACE!!! HAHAHA!!! And my dream came true!! I raced and LS1 vette, and he didnt exactly kick my @$$. One of my friends that i usually cruise around with drove a Black Subaru STI. WELL HE HAS BEEN SAVING HIS $$$'s AND TRADED IT IN ON A VETTE!!!! Well he got a bone stock 98 and put straight pipe on it. Or at least he said they were strait pipes but they didnt sound like it. My Bassani's were louder. So we are sitting at a stop light, first in line, the next stop light is prolly around 1/4 mile off give or take 100 feet. The light goes green, we both get sideways comeing out of the light I pull out in front, his nose is right at my door, we keep pulling, i hit 2nd and the back end kicks out again, we are alomst to the light and are neck and neck, i hit 3rd gear and cherp em again. We fly thru the light rolling about 115. i decided that 115 on city streets is crazy and shut it down, he does too. We pull into the Go-Mart (turn around and hang out spot)and there are about 20 people there who are just in awe after our race. We both get swarmed by people who are just in awe and also who want to race. We give each other a handshake and we are still friends so it is all good. I didnt win, but i didnt lose either, i was so proud of my car keeping up with a vette that i almost pee'd my pants...lol!!!

 

That's cool man....115 is crazy on the streets![8D] So who won the race? There had to be a winner.. Sounds like you have a fast Mach. Was the vette a stick?

Well, i dont relly know who won...it was too close to call, which ever one of us won it was by a few inches, cause our doors were right next to each other the whole time. Yes, it was a stick, and so is mine. And i wouldnt really call my car a "vette killer" my dad's vette is way faster than mine but i can hang right with a stock vette.

 

Sounds like fun, what are the specs on a stock 98 vette? Arround where do you live? Running Mach v.s. Mach would have to be fun .

 

I know you have got to be in Roanoke, and that was Matt's vette. Am I right? I am familar with go mart on williamson rd. It was nice to get out this weekend after all that crappy weather wasn't it.

 

Yea...your right. He is going to get arrested in that car. He races all the time and is always doin stupid crap. And i think ive seen your 89 out there b4...i think you tried to get me to race you once. I drive a white Mach1, if you are who i think you are you followed me all the way down williamson to the gas station next to Happy's and tried to get me to race you. And if you're not who i think you are...then we should meet up sometime...im thinking about taking my Mach out there tonite...i think it is supposed to be a little cold but not rainy or snowing.
