well it had the gt badges the gt font bumper and the grill, dual exhaust and the gt premium package rims

does anyoned know the stock 0-60 times for a 5.0 ho i just got my car maybe it isnt all stock, this would be nice to know before i buy my hci

 

probably high 6s to high 7s with the gt being 4.9 for a manual, and 5.1 for the auto

The guy may have let off after he took you from a dig, not that I'd blame him. I do that a LOT against slower cars, let off before I hit the top of 2nd

 

Did you forget that you ran mid 9's in the 1/8th mile with a modded 3v? I bet you weren't "LMAO" then, because a lot of 5.0, and non- PI's 4.6's could hand you your *** running times like like that. The situation the OP describes is perfrectly possible. Yes, I agree that the 05 should have pulled pretty good on the OP, but it didn't happen, and sure,a lot has to do with the driver.

If the OP can run mid 14's, like in your example, he would have given you one hell of a race whenever you ran in the 9's. I understand that was your first times at he track, and I am not trying to give you a hard time about it, just trying to put things in perspective. You resort to "paper racing" (theroretical), when you have had 1st hand experience that cars are not always driven to their full potential.

 

The problem is he said the GTtook him off the line, and then he pulled on it. In order to pull on a car that has the jump on you, you need to have a faster car

 

I see what you are saying, my point was too many variables are present to "LMAO". The 88 might have pulled after he caught traction, or after the 05 let off, missed a gear or whatever. In theory the 05 would have been nothing but taillights, the it didn't happen, so why are do we start "paper racing" them?

 

There is no way in hell that you pulled on a GT that beat you from a dig. You were racing a GT Badged Sixxer. Now, the other guy that drives an F-Bod, that runs 14.5, can run with a new GT. I am now 99 % stock, minus my axle back. I can run a mid-high 13. With a crappy driver, a 14 flat would be safe to say for a new GT. That is a 1/2 second faster dude. Unless that is a really old time, and you are able to run really low 14's, and are a good damn driver.There isn't any way you are running with an S197.

 

I guess he should change it to arm or something eh?

Ehhhh anything can happen when you are racing someone beleive it or not, not everyone driving the god like 3v's is an experienced racer (especially considering 99% of the drivers are in their 40's and women)
