KB GT VS civic
just got home a little ago from cruisin around cause its real nice out for the KB to suck in some cold air and the coolest its been all summer. earlier today i saw a civic come up behind me with a big a$$ intercooler and 4 gauges on the pillar(a little overkill to have 4 right in ur face i think) and we race from like 5mph to 60 and i put 2 cars on him but thats cause he was spinning 1st, 2nd, and 3rd he said so i said thats fine and went my own way. well later tonight i saw him again and we raced from about 50-100 and i beat him again but this time he blamed it on turbo lag. He asked to go to the highway so we went there and raced about 2 more times and i won both but not my too much but a win is a win. My question is, he said he is runnin a Greddy Turbo at only 6lbs of boost, how can i be runnin 9psi and him 6psi and stay close when my motors bigger and also how is there that much lag on a turbo at 50mph when ur rpm's are up there so high?
It's power to weight... but really... it sounds like he had an assload of excuses. Clearly you had the faster car no matter how you guys ran. He was just trying to justify how his heavily modified Civic couldn't beat a boosted GT.
If he was keeping up with you at 9psi in a V8 then he had more than "just" 6psi of boost. Even though he is lighter, it's not THAT much lighter, prolly had a bunch of bolt ons, or a built engine, maybe a k20 swap or he was spraying on top of boost, or just plain lying about his boost level.
