Another Chevy Kill!!!
I pulled in to a local gas station tonight just to clean my front window when I see a guy pumping gas into a SS Chevelle...so I continue to the other side of the pumps to go about my business and right as I finish I see him gettin in his car to leave so I hurry up and get in mine. He rolls up next to my window so I roll it down and shut off the car cuz my uxhaust is so loud I couldnt hear him. He asks me what I had, I said "just a 302" (which is the truth) and he asked if I wanted to run 'em.....I told him sure then asked what he had. He said "just a 350"so we pull out and go from like a 15 roll.....not much but just didnt feel like stopping.
I got sideways all through first and shifted into second still sideways, then I finally straightened out and hit third, let it go to about 5500 rpm and shut it down. He passed me a few seconds later after I slowed down only to get into the turning lane and smiled and gave me a thumbs up.
He was probably suprised I beat him with just a 302!!! hahaha I just got a killer tune yesterday and gained 83.3 horses from it!! Without that I would have lost. Anyway, good times and a good race...another win to my belt

Old school racin with a couple of 60's muscle cars. Sounds like a lot of fun. How many cars did you beat him by? And damn, that's quite a tune to get 83 horses from it. What all mods do you have done?
Those old musclecars are so inefficient sometimes, that a simple tune can increase performance by astounding amounts. If you've never seen a carburated car on a dyno in the hands of a skilled tuner, I recommend witnessing it sometime!
Sweet ride!
Do you think moving my fog lights in like yours would look good?
I like that look.
Yeah, I want to do that with my car but not sure where to go in South Eastern Michigan

Carb tweaking ftw! It's insane how much power a car can lose by not properly jetting a carb or dealing with the lean/rich problems most cars with carbs run into. And I give mad props to anyone still running one, the art of working the 4bbl carb is like the art of sculpting, it takes time and practice but can generate very impressive results. I love my Holley 750, I wouldn't run my 351 any other way.
Yea the numbers are very impressive. First they tried a few different jet sizes, then changed the spring in the distributor to change the timing curve. Blocked the power valve and took away my vac. advance. Also they drilled my squirters out...I think....what dumps the fuel??, cuz off the line it would fall on its face with NO THROTTLE RESPONSE!!! Also adjusted my base timing to 15 degress and total to 35 degrees. It helped out tremendously....now I cant even keep the thing straight when I nail it.......its time for suspension and traction!!!
