Im still a little to green to try downshifting, every time i think about doing it i picture my trans just suffering all hell. If i go to downshift and im the high way to get a better start against some one and im in 4th and i wanna go to 3rd and lets say im at 2-3k rpms. I would push the clutch hit the gas till i got to 3 k and down shift? does my speed matter during this beacuse i assume i cant be doing 80 in 4th and wanna drop it down to 3rd and not expect to hear a discomforting noise. Ive down shifted before but only when getting off the high way and you best belive im careful as hell when i do that, specially in those turns of the NJ Parkway/turn pike...

you don't "hit" the gas. toy tap it real fast like you were reving at someone. YOu don't have to go very high up any way. usualy a quick 2 grand blip will do it.

Rev matching is easier on the car then just sticking it in a lower gear and letting off the throttle.

press the clutch, put in in the lower gear, blip the gas as you let off the clutch. When you get good you can blip while your shifting and save time.

Thats bull. Everyone knows that you need to double clutch if your a real racer. ignor the fact that it's totaly useless and take more then twice as much time as "granny shifting". Then you can spout off about "never had your car" and being too scared to drive a real car. You can also through in bolts poping out and panals exploding from the stress of that high powered car...

LOL, my bro in law does that in his semi
i think that the movie had the same impact on you as it did me.[:'(]

granny shifting is.............. when you let off the gas peddle totally.**** gears, then get back on the gas.

when you should be.....keepin the gas nailed to floor and pushin the clutch and smashin the next if your nice like me,and you got a 7800 rpm limit and shift at 6400 just in case.

double clutching in a race is more like fanning a dirt bike clutch. and you only do it in higher gears that your rpms arent maxing out in........

am I the only one that thinks, before owning a car as powerful as a Cobra, you should already know how to drive a manual??? That's kinda dangerous.

Don't worry about granny shifting. Granny shifting is how you normally drive when you aren't racing. Everything you learned about cars in that movie, forget. It will just help you kill brain cells.

Don't forget the 500rwhp Supra had 2 count them 2! 200 shots of nitrous!
