Default TC's...

Everyone knows them, I've even looked at them seriously, but as a base car it just does not offer the performance the styling suggests.

Now, I was turning from a light, with a blackTC behind me. I didn't think much of it, and proceeded to turn as usual. My driver side window was down, enjoying the nice cool air coming from outside instead of my A/C. Then I hear tire squealing. "The TC is trying something?" I thought, thenproceeding to go WOT.Writing this I do not remember if I was in first or second gear. The bugger did not overtake me, but he wasn't farbehind either. Shifting from 2nd to 3rd I let off, and moments later I saw the scion ride by me with a huge grin/smile on his face. Further ahead where another set of lights, butI had to turn to the bank. I didn't want to go out of my way just to race. We had our fun. Besides, the lights up a head where just before the road curved, and the first 60ft. of road was not quite flat.

Must have been a supercharged / turbocharged one. But a clean one, no fart pipe, no extreme body kit, no nothing. Just a clean TC.

Yeah i looked at them, not bad for the price, exceptperfomance wise. But other than that there decent cars for daily driving and just getting you from A to B.

My wife had one for awhile. It got about 400 miles to a tank, and had a lot of nice features, but she said she felt like it was a teenage girl's car. We traded itfor a GTO, which she loved. It did ok performance wise for a stock non-turbo 4 banger I guess. I would love to see whhat one with the TRD supercharger and a good tune would do..my guess is alot of spinning. He probably hung with you since he got a huge jump on you, but I am sure you would have gotten away from him pretty good under normal cicumstances.

vdubs areknown for being solid, so I don't blame you. Plus 4 doors vs 2... and a heck more room to boot!

Personally I'd get a new Golf rather than a TC. Hell, I spec-ed out a TC the way I wanted it to be, and was right smack down in middle of GTI territory. And that was without that supercharger, not an option on the website...No matter what you say, a GTI is a nice piece of kit to start out with. It has more horses, yet has pretty much the same mileage as the TC(give 1 or 2 miles per gallon).

But I was surprised... If that was one with that TRD "factorywarranty remains"supercharger it really does help that TC move! But you might be right about having the jump on me. Fact remains he did not overtake me. Actually, I'd rather he did... Then I would be so depressed I'd break open my piggyback and start putting some extra horses in our stock 05...

Maybe he sprayed. All of the modded scions I've seen around here have some sort of nitrous setup. This douchebag looking guy even purged on me one time at a stoplight, even though he was in a turning lane and I wasn't. Good thing though, I would've lost lol.
