The other day while i was at the track, one of my buddies said i shoudl try launching it in 2nd gear, any one tried this, and what would it help/do ?

 

your buddy sounds like an idiot. if you're having trouble launching your car just keep practicing, it takes time.

 

i know a guy with a built motor 90s cobra with 430 gears that has made his best pass launching from 2nd gear....

SOMEHOW i dont think matt's stang is putting the #'s down that he needs to launch from 2nd.

 

6 second drag cars launch in first...u should too.

 

i launched in second once (on accident) and it bogged for a second then i got thrown backinto my seat [8D]

 

I launched in 3rd once... just for the heck of it... and actually it wasn't that bad... Not recommended for everyday, but still... I was surprised how smooth that went... I expected it to die on me...

But launching in 2nd is only useful when there is snow/ice on the road... Stick to 1st... and learn how to launch...
