Thought I would post this race for all you New Edge guys. My wife and I were coming into Raleigh tonight on I-40. I passed a New Edge Stang, he was a white convertible with yellow racing stripes. Not loud, not slammed out, nothing. I had to do a double take just to make sure it was a GT, since it was debadged. I slowed down to get a better look and noticed the driver was in his 50s or so. I told my wife you had to watch these older guys in their muscle cars. They are usually retired, have money, and lots of time on their hands. I got beside him (I'm driving my Mach btw-mods below) and reved a little to see if he would bite. He didn't do anything, so I slammed mine into 3rd from 70mph and left him by 4-5 cars. I gave him zero warning what-so-ever, so it was totally in my favor....so I thought! This guy runs me down and blows my doors off! I had a gut feeling that he had something under the hood, but good God. I didn't hear supercharger whine, but then again I have off-road pipes so maybe that's why. What do you guys think? I seriously doubt he sprayed it on the Highway like that, and if he did, it would have to be some insane shot.Whatwould he need to be behind 4-5 cars,catchup to me, and pass me in less than a quarter mile? Opinions plz.

 

You wouldnt hear jack **** if you were wide open with a full exhaust with no cats supercharger or not. That's about the only thing that would do that unless he was crazy enough to spray a 100+ shot on a highway lol, but then again stranger things have happened.

 

yeah...i dont think hes gonna wait spray on some street race that doesnt make a **** in the world....but like said above....stranger things happen (read my thread "your not gonna believe this")

I'm not saying a supercharger wouldn't do it, but I doubt just a charger and bolt-ons would do what he did. I mean, I never let off and he passed me like I was slamming on brakes. I'm thinking he had a built motor with F/I. A friend of mine has a 2000 GT putting down 650rwhp, he has pulled me on the interstate like that.

I can honestly say that with my O/R Hpipe and flows... people can hear my whine in the car and in the car next to me on the interstate.. im not going to guess to what he had... but you can hear the heaton whine...

 

well, you said it yourself... those old farts have a lot of money + time... maybe he had a new engine installed. thats what i would do if my stang was going to be a project car...

 

yea he must have been built to walk past u like that. people always make a big deal when i spray on the street, i mean its just like having a supercharged gt, same hp pretty much
