Default Raced a CTS-V

I was driving and saw this CTS-V coming up on me. For a good 10 minutes we kept revving back and forth with each other, but wouldn't run because there was too much traffic.

Finally we got a light next to each other. Light turned green and I instantly pulled about 3 cars on him. By the time I shifted into 3rd he started gaining and was at my back end. I shut down at 70MPH. If we would've kept going he definitely would have passed me.

So we got to another light. I think he was pissed about the last race, so I knew he was going to go again. Light turns green and the same result.

I noticed both times that 1st and 2nd seemed to be my strong point and his weak point, because when I hit 3rd he closed the gap from 3 cars to about 1/2 a car. Being that I shut down at 70MPH he didn't get a chance to pass me, but I know if it would've been a 1/4mile run he would've passed me.

Fun times. I was surprised I gave him such a lashing off the line. But then again GM's are known for having great top end, so it makes sense that I had him bottom, and he was catching me at the top.

He's pretty heavy and has IRS, so he probably had a tough time launching. He may have been spinning or been dumb and left his TC on, which would bog him down everytime he broke traction. Nice driving on your part, that definetly wasn't an easy kill by any means!

DOH! I always leave traction control on. I wasn't aware that made that much of a difference. I see the light go on constantly everytime I race someone.

Lol...Yea, you need to turn it off if when you run. When the Traction control system senses the rear wheels getting loose, it cuts fuel to the engine which makes it bog down until you regain traction. I think it even applies brake pressure to the rear wheels. You would of pulled much harder on him if you had turned it off. Makes a HUGE difference!

I'd say that's a good kill for you. Those cars can run mid 13's stock, so the drive mod probably stopped him from beating you.

He would have beaten you had the race went longer.70mph is more than enough to shut down and claim a winif your on surface streets.... CTS-V's are low 13 second cars....Good Kill!!

That is an awesome kill man, those cars are no slouches! I'd love to own one as a daily driver.

Thanks guys. Yeah I was surprised.

C6 I agree, If we would've taken up to 100MPH+ (Which I absolutely never do in a street race) he would've beat me in the end, no doubt about it.

Guess that means I'll stick to the 1/8 mile knowing I'll beat more cars that way
