race him from roll too.. sti's arnt that great of roll..but launch...enouugh said there something else

 

With your race tune it should'nt be a total blow-out our anything. STIs either get an awesome launch or a really crappy one. Even if he get's you out of the hole, he should'nt gain anymore ground than that, nor should you. I think you guyswill have a good race. Lots of variables to say who should win without an actual race. I've seen STIs go 13.5 stock, as well as new GTs. With both of you having tunes, it is a good match. If I absolutly had to, I would put my money on the STI, but only if I had to.

 

If he can drive I would say he will edge you out slightly(from what I have seen anyways), but it should bea good race

 

i Just ran an STI yesterday it was the 2005 body style, and was very loud for an sti im geussing it had a Turbo back exhaust and at least a tune. i have raced stock STIs from rolls and put lengths on them it was the fastest STI i have raced (only raced 3 lol)we went from a 2nd gear roll on the highway, and we were dead even! i might have pulled a few inches if that when i shifted but it was very close. im sure he had some kind of tune and and added boost....if we had went from a dig he would have killed me...but i did have a passenger and he was alone. i also have the 3.55 rear

 

i own an sti and from what i can say is from a dig, with about 5000 into his car, if he went smart he went with the cobb AP, launch control increased boost, better 93 map and all that. That being said, if he can't launch he will burn his clutch and if he doesn't have launch control he might bog if he can't launch. if the car bogs you have a big lead because it will be lag for a good second and a half. On a roll our turbos are too small for top end boost so i would say if he knows his car it would be pretty even, good luck.

hated mustangs because of the stereo type but fell in love after hanging out with some foxbody's.

PS. 07's have the best gearing besides he 08's new motors that put out torque and hp 10X quicker.
