Well my dads thinkin of gettin a '05 chevy silverdao ss and car and driver claims they can get a 0-60 at 6.3 seconds and run a 14.8 1/4 mile. I just picked up an 04 mach 1 (GT was wrecked) and im betting my dad will wanna give me a run or 2 at the track. You guys think i should be able to wipe him out? Stock for stock im thinking i should be able to win, but im kinda worried about the AWD on the SS. So you think i should take him or do you think ill be playin catch up outta the hole?

 

You will murder him . Get your car to hook and you put a bus lenght on him. Yes he is awd but the truck is like 4500# plus awd saps power big time.

 

I'm thinking that it won't even be close. If car and driver ran a 14.8 (which sounds low, ive not done any research) then dont expect your dad to run anything under a 15.

And a one legged dude could run a better time than that in a Mach 1, or GT for that matter.

 

The 05 SS is quick. The 6.0L puts out 345-hp and 380 Ft lbs... only issue is traction. not to mention the 4.10 gear ratio, LSD and 275 series tires. it does weight a lot tho

 

If you race him without an engine he'll still lose. No really in all seriousness you'll destroy him.

 

his 1/4 mile time will be like a second off yours. no contest.

 

The truck weigh almost 6k lbs. I wll also say you will kill him. If you have a Mach, and the they can run side by side w/ an LS1, I have personally own3d a few SS trucks before my mods. They are a disgrace to the SS badge, along with the Monte Carlo SS (00-03).

there are plenty of trucks running 13's and 12's without a ton of work... Anyone who knows a silverado owner named Parish knows that they can be made very fast. Just takes work much like anything. Great power+no tractionXa lot of weight = poor performance. I have honestly never seen the new AWD trucks launch so really I can't honestly tell you what they would do coming off the line.
